Project "Over Compensating" my 3.5x5 lowes trailer

So that's how one bends metal without a metal brake! Genius!!! I need to bend some metal for a spare tire mount myself... Trailer looks great so far!

    My Little Trailer Build!

I don't know what to compare it to but that little trailer has a lot of "action" at 40 mph on an old southern Indiana back road... :grinning:

    My Little Trailer Build!

Spent a little time this weekend on the trailer "to do" list that I made on the first trip out last weekend. Cut the tailgate into two pieces, which required some welding and grinding, to change the tailgate into a double side-swing instead of a single side-swing. Converted an old Army ruck...

    My Little Trailer Build!

Whistling problem solved! After a short, but intense ride in the trailer, the culprit turned out to be the LED light mounted on the front of the trailer. The wind flowing over the cooling fins on the top of the light were causing the whistle.

    Indiana Members, check in here.

Hello everyone! My name is Justin and my wife Christi and I live down in southern Indiana in Orange County. We've both lived in Indiana our entire lives (minus 8 years in the military). I've spent a lot of time outdoors in my life between my childhood of living in rural Indiana, my time in...

    Camp Photos!

Well, the scenery isn't nearly as epic as some of the others on here, but at least we got out of the house into the woods. This was our first trip out with the trailer that I built over the past few months. Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area in Rockville, IN. It was crowded but gave us a...

    Trailer Identification

Thank you all for all of the great information! It is pretty interesting to hear all of the things this trailer could have been in its younger days. I've done quite a bit of work to it since I got it. Actually took it out on a camping trip this past weekend. I have a build thread over in...

    My Little Trailer Build!

We took the trailer on its maiden voyage this past weekend to a non-electric camp site at Raccoon Lake SRA west of Indianapolis. It was about a 2 hour drive and I discovered that something on my trailer starts whistling at 40 mph which was incredibly irritating! Guess I'm gonna have to take...

    My Little Trailer Build!

I didn't realize I got my bows in the background! Those and the bow press are the last remaining remnants of the bow shop I used to own. I haven't had them off the wall in a long long time. Keep saying I'll pick them back up one day when life slows down but it hasn't happened yet. I'm...

    My Little Trailer Build!

I have one on the passenger side that will be under my awning that turns on the light under the awning and the cargo light. I have another one up high in the back that turns on the light that would shine on the tailgate where I'd be cooking (has an extra switch left over for expansion). It was...

    My Little Trailer Build!

Been a little while since I posted any updates. Been busy with life and not made a lot of progress. Part of it was waiting on electrical components to arrive. I decided to power my trailer with a portable "solar generator" which is a fancy name for a portable battery. We went with the...

    Trailer Power Options

Thanks for the input. We are just getting into this so we really don' t know what all we will think we "need", if you know what I mean. I've ordered some switches and some lights for under the awning and inside the trailer. Will probably get a small water tank and a water pump...

    Trailer Power Options

I watched plenty of reviews. I don't part with my money too easily. The blue handled units he is reviewing are some of the earliest kick starter units that were sent out as much for testing as anything else. They did have a lot of issues. I don't think I've seen a bad review with the...

    Indiana Is For Beginners

I've lived in Indiana my entire life (not counting my 8 years in the military). I live in rural southern Indiana, only a 5 minute drive to the southern parts of the Hoosier National Forest. It takes me about 45 minutes to get to the northern parts of the HNF east of Bloomington. I've been...

    Trailer Power Options

I really wasn't looking for opinions on what everyone's think is expensive. Just if it could be plugged into a trailer's existing wiring with the cigarette lighter output. Now, if you really have seen "many ways" to have portable power without "spending a fortune" I'd be interested in those...

    Trailer Power Options

My original plan for my trailer was to install a deep cycle battery and connect it to my lights, outlets, water pump, water heater, etc. My wife and I were going down a rabbit hole of options and ran across the Ecoflow River system. It's a little pricey, but offers the ability to do a whole...

    My Little Trailer Build!

Rolled on 3 coats of bedliner this weekend. Had a chance to open up the tent, attach the annex to make sure I knew how while in a controlled environment. :) Tailgate is the last piece of the puzzle. Going to change it from a swing down to a swing out and mount the spare tire on it...
