That takes us around to the right hand side where things were looking quite grim.
More rust to cut away, more parts to fabricate and weld in and more panels to replace.
Then after the rot removal and fabricating the missing parts, time to weld in the new panels.
Got myself a pair of good trailing arms too, in 2014 when I was building the van, these were not available from the usual sources. JP Group have since started making them and are available world wide.
I have the ARB 2500, I have both the early and late rooms to go with it, there are pro's and cons for both rooms.
Early room, windows zip down but not across the bottom, blows a hoolie in there in the slightest wind. There is only one exit point which isn't always convenient.

Today the missing bolt ( biggest bolt on the vehicle) has been replaced.
Starting and running just fine again.

Anything more than a wooden lolipop stick is illegal to carry in UK .... HOWEVER
on my side ( while camping) is a Helle knife, I also have 2 axes a machette and various other knives in the van :-)
The law is vague whilst camping as they are tools for purpose within the confines of camp

Swore at it this evening when it wouldn't start.
at first I thought the spade connector had rattles loose from the starter solenoid again, crawled under the van to slip it back on only to find that the housing bolt of the starter motor was missing.
No wonder the f@cker wouldn't start!
