its a big subject too.
now where you gonna mount it?
do you need a rigid panel in a frame?
A semi flexible panel? or even a panel to fold up and store away.
a 100Watt panel will charge your battery at approx. 5 amps/h on a good sunny day, half that on a cloudy day.
That will be good enough on...
30 year old 3 way electrolux rm212 series fridge freezer in my 34 year old van.
runs on 12v/240v/propane.
12v while travelling, propane when camped up.
Bloody useless unless the van is level within 3 degrees.
I shut it down and clean it out when I'm not on a trip.
Gonna swap it out for a Waeco...
google is such a useless thing at times. "Let's split up and look for clues scoob".
so the firepit ( which it never was) has mysteriously turned into a "fire ring"
As you say...Mystery solved.
next quest, how to prevent folks naming stuff a firepit when it ain't?
PS. Thanx for the answer...
My complete cast iron cookware set lives in this crate apart from the tripod and chain which is in its own carry bag.
1 gallon dutch oven with lid
1 10" skillet
1 Trivet
1 lid lifter
1 waffle pan
1 pair of gauntlets
1 solid ribbed griddle ( grill) which is full length of the crate
Not a bad set...
You know how every man in the world thinks he makes the best stew ever?
They all may make a pretty awesome stew and I would love to sit at their campfire and share some of that honest food, but each and everyone of them are wrong.
I make the best stew in the world :-)
LOL
I still need to see a pic of this propane "firepit", WTF is it?
it sounds like something Uncle Bob made in his yard
<------runs off to check Uncle Bob on youtube.
it's becoming increasingly difficult to light campfires in UK too.
That looks like a good solution for your vehicle, something I may have to think about in the future.
I bought these light guards for Buckaroo, I'm not sure that the lights wont be smashed to pieces if they get knocked.
I'll look for something else to buy which don't actually attach to the lenses.
live and learn.
Those clever chinese boffins have been busy inventing a hybrid solar panel which creates an electric current from rain hitting the panel or from the sun.
These things will charge your batteries on a rainy night.
I think that's an awesome idea and an ideal off grid solution for almost all of...
my two penn'orth.
BFG K20 AT M+S
I run these tyres all year around in UK, never let me down.
noisy, but not too loud on tarmac, good in cold and snow.
I have no idea what Alberta weather is like.
