Food, eating, sleeping gear, drinking, going to the toilet, everything else is optional. Take what you have and go out for a night or two. The more you go, the more you will know what you want.

You can also carry a generator if need be. Not the most efficient set up, but it can extend range. I am curious as to how much difference solar panel could make for range, and if it is even possible to charge from them directly.

It sounds like the FJ no longer meets your needs, buy the Tundra, sell the FJ, pay a bulk of the money toward the Tundra, and use a chunk of it for the upgrades that you really want.
