Love your build on this. I recently got an 03 2500 that im going to be doing some 4 wheelin in. Been hard to find a bumper that I like because none of them are really high clearance. I like the fact that you chopped up your move bumper to make it appear somewhat high clearance.
Well I feel like just as I get one vehicle done and ready for camping and going off road, another catches my attention. I picked up this 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins a day before a planned trip and seeing as how everything checked out on it, I decided to take it on that 800 mile trip through...
My Chevy is a 3/4 ton diesel so it weighs about 3k more then the frontier. I google searched for 3/4 ton trucks with sliders and there are plenty of reputable companies that make them for heavy duty trucks and I’ve see some of the damaged after math photos as well. Everything depends on how hard...
Great choice to start with. I fell in love with my k2500 and they are great affordable platforms for going off road. Put up some of your future project/goals for the truck.
I was intrigued by your theory and decided to measure the distance on my midsize (2014 Nissan Frontier) and full size (1998 Chevy K2500) trucks. Its about 2" longer on the full size. I wouldn't say they would be with out function because you would just have more support bars coming off of the...
I finally got around to getting the transmission crossmember notched. Turned out pretty good and only took a few hours of work. I ended up extending the 4” exhaust so that the hump over the torsion crossmember moves backwards as well. also had a shop reroute the crossover pipe at an angle so...
I looked at the Tacoma TRD Off Road for myself but couldn't really ever justify the cost of it. Although the Frontier has an older look to it, the lack of design change is what also helps keep the truck cost down. I ended up getting the Pro-4X model which is just as capable as the Tacoma TD Off...
I spent this weekend getting my Realift TB relocator's on which turned out to be a pain in the ass. The TB cross member has to be moved backwards with some new holes in the frame drilled so be ready for that. Also since I upgraded my exhaust to a 4", the exhaust was in the way to slide the...
I’ve read different info on the marine injectors but most state that they’re not needed unless running really high hp. They say there is more benefit in upgrading the injector pump before the injectors because the pump maxes out before the injectors.
The lift seems good so far, it replaced 20 year old components so it was definitely an improvement in ride quality. I haven’t had a chance to take it off road yet cause I need to get the exhaust crossover pipe modified to fit the front driveshaft.
The last raptor job lasted me 4 years without needing any touch ups. As for cleaning, a mitt may get destroyed over time so I normally use a pressure washer to clean it even if it’s sat for a few days. If you have a foam cannon attachment then it really helps.
Great job on the build so far. I have a k2500 myself. Started my build process here but I noticed there was a full size rig sections which is primarily made up of full size pick ups so I had mine moved over there.
Great job on the bed liner spray. I did my 98 k2500 this year as well and I love how it turned out for the price. Did you do all the door jams in raptor liner as well? I'm debating because its so much prep for that all by itself.
