Day-4:
Another early start as I wanted to reach Byfield NP today… Reached Calliope in good time but then ran into km after km of Roadworks which slowed me down.. Reached Rockhampton where I refuelled and pushed on to check out a little known local 4WD track that I found out before I left -...
Day-3:
Due to the wasted time of the previous day it was another early rise and back on the road by 6am. Headed out and towards Mount Perry to check out some old mining Relics then pushed on to Monto where I refuelled and ended up running into some old friends that I hadn't seen for years and...

Day-1:
Well, I finished my Afternoon Shift @ 10pm and headed off towards what I hoped...
I just returned from there and I checked out the Pistol Gap Loop Track - Looking @ the south entrance was enough for me to give it a miss as I was on my own and it looks like it which a winch job or possible panel damage depending on which path u took... It's a very short track and that exit...
Hey Grant...
Just noticed a little track up that way called Pistol Gap Track - There's a few Youtube Videos of it, just wondering if u have been along it? Looks interesting ;)
Cool... thanks mate, much appreciated ;)
Visiting a few old ghost mining areas on my way up there so, hoping should be up there around Wed/Thu next week if all goes well
No worries with the pin striping, have plenty on the old defender now... Unsure how long I'll stay at Byfields for but can u drive in and out in a day or is that too much? I realise more time would be better but just unsure of time schedule at this point in time
I'll hopefully be up at 5 five rocks next week sometime... (if all goes well), but it will only be a quick recce in and out to see what's on offer for a future family trip...
Yeah, a mate of mine has just become the QLD dealer for Pod Trailers here in Brendale - Qld. They are only just getting going but apparently are doing quite well in selling the Podtrailer...
BTW: What's the "internal" width of the Rooftop Tent?
For me when I'm solo exploring, I prefer the comfort and ease of sleeping in the back of the Defender... so much easier than a tent or swag which is what we use when it's more than myself camping...
Nice setup... How high is the awning off the ground when its setup? Can a 6" person easily stand up underneath the awning?
BTW: I see u live just around the corner in the next suburb to me... ;) Don't suppose u know of the local PodTrailer dealership down in Brendale then?
Hey Guys...
I’ve got the test version of the app on my iPhone and it seems to work ok for the small amount of times I’ve tried to use it BUT it does not seem to work on my iPad at all. It won’t let me log in and keeps coming up with a error. I know I’m entering the correct password, etc
Not sure if us Aussies can post in this section but here goes.... (just delete if not allowed ;) )
1987 - Cape York Trip (Australia)
Was going through some VERY OLD photos from my younger days when I came across what was my very first 4WD Adventure Trip... A trip to Cape York back in 1987...
I would have to agree... I'm only new here and not that familiar with my way around the forum yet but one possible thought is to have a specific ROUTE TOPIC under each area within the OVERLAND BOUND BY REGION section. This way a person wanting to search a specific area would simply go here and...
