    GPS unit Reviews

I run Nuvi's in both rigs, a 265T in the Tacoma and a 2455LT in the Forester. For me the key is ease of use, I appreciate that they are there, always running, out of the way. I don't need to set them up, or have a bunch of wires hanging everywhere (they are both hardwired through the defrost...

    Radio mounting

Mounted my Yaesu FT-2900 and speaker on a plexi sheet under the drivers seat, remote face and mic fit perfect in the Tacoma console. Fender mounted NMO Larson, plus you can see the CB pole on the lightbar up front, Cobra 75wxst is under the passenger seat..

    Family Overlanding

Family Basecamp ; Covers bathroom, hot water, shower, fridge, stove, furnace, toybox... Keeps kids dry and safe no matter what, plus keeps parents happy too. Taking the trailer means we can check out new areas by unhooking and exploring while our 'place' stays safe and sound. Once the little...

    Scangauge vs Ultra gauge

I use a scanguage II in both the Subaru and our Tacoma. At the time Ultra didn't have codes for Transmission temps from Toyota, that was a big reason why I got it. During camping/ towing season I wanted to be able to watch what was going on. There are way more codes for Toyota and Hondas than...

Thoughts and reasons for your chosen rig

With a small family of four plus a dog, and our excursions pushing the max of what our little Forester could do we chose the DCLB Tacoma.. It's still small enough that I daily drive it into work, it has all the room we could need inside, carries sofas, tables, bikes etc etc, and in the summer it...

    Resolved Steps instead of sliders...

Haha, that's good.. someone must have uploaded it to this site and is using it around. Sliders - reinforced, bolted/welded to the frame, protects the sides of your rig from rocks and rocker damage.. should be able to support the weight of the vehicle ie could lift with a jack; on Tom Cruiser...

    CB or HAM?

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Missed that one too Michael, sorry for the late reply! Our Tacoma was covered under the CRC (Corrosion Resistance Coating) 'recall' for 05-08 Tacomas, it went in for that in November but failed the inspection. There was a 2" hole on the passenger frame rail, right beside the cat. Pretty common...
