Thank you all for your input and encouragement on this. I am to the point I just want to get it complete. I have been plagued with quality issues with the plywood I bought from Home Depot. I knew it would not be as well put together as what I was used to but, I had no idea how inconsistent...
If you haven't thought about it, think about gear ratio change as you go up in tire size to account for the added leverage needed to turn the larger lever. So many folks forget about that when they are adding so many accessories (weight) and then taller tires. The vehicle tends to run out of...
Hope you are all doing well. Had to work out of town last week. Got the wiring done for the drawer system and will now have to figure out how to get it the unit fitted into the truck and get the deck aligned with the vertical supports. Once I get this figured out I will get some more picture...
Sorry it has been a bit since I have updated things here. I have been plagued by multiple weeks of Amazon deliveries not showing up. So I have been busy getting the electrical put together. Still waiting on relays to wire in the accessories. Big shout out to the guys at Overland Power...
Well Gang,
Sorry this has been moving slower than I had wished. Work and life have gotten in the way a bit as well as Chinese made slides. I had to spend lots of time working on the slides to get them to work correctly. The catches and locks were basically too wide once bolted up to the...
So we fired the last guy and started over from scratch. So there hasn't been a whole lot different going on except making expensive firewood. This new guy may be a keeper though. He has talked us into just using a slide out from under the stove drawer for the sink and to alternatively have as...
Suffered an epic fail on the project when building the kitchen drawer. I had to fire the engineer from the job. That knucklehead has no idea how to use a tape measure. Thought all was going really well.
Then this happened.....
Yeah. That is the sink not able to slide out from the side...
Got after it and managed to get the drawers built. Drivers side will be setup with moveable dividers for varying loads. Passenger side has varying depths of compartments to accommodate kitchenware, dry food, and miscellaneous food.

Made some more progress this weekend. Got the drawer slides mounted with a little help from my right hand man. We used T-nuts to attach the slides to the structure. The slides on the driver side were set lower than the the slides on the passengers side. Reason being is the location of the...
Not much to really show for the week. Spent most of it watching polyurethane dry.
I did start some layout for the water system. The 21 gallon take looks like it is going to fit great and I will have a good place to mount the pump and surge tank.
This weekend should allow me to really...
The game changer tool I have picked up in the past few years is the Makita track saw. It just works. The Milwaukee stuff is good stuff especially, at Christmas when Home Depot has all of their buy one get one sales. I have collected a little bit of everything except DeWalt over the years when...
So here is wat I have been dealing with on the drawer slides. This is the 4th time this pair of slides had been ordered. Again these are 52" full length heavy duty locking slides. Notice the bent locking lever. Instead of returning them again I worked with them to get the locks straight so...
So went back to the drawing board and decided to rebuild the base cabinet so that it will fit between the wheel wells from front to back. I plan to build out a face plate over the front and tie this into the tiedown points in the front and the rear of the bed. I think this will work out best...
Started to build this out yesterday and had to take a step back and re-think a few things. Made a template of the bed as seen in the previous posts out of cardboard. Used that to build the bed form below.
Hey gang,
I should have some updates coming after the weekend. I had a great start this morning and ran into some things that have caused me to do a redesign. This has to do with the way the bed is constructed and not wanting to build this in place. Also I have had a very difficult time...
