    Hello from Wilmington!

Hello and welcome!!! My girlfriend and I will be in Wilmington this coming weekend, and if nothing else I would like to drive along the beach. If I remember correctly the areas around Wilmington that allow trucks on the beech are kure beech (sp?) and some place around Carolina beech? Any...

looking at vehicles, how insane do I need to go for overlanding?

Buy a 4runner, and you will be a Toyota fan for life! If you are on an overland website, asking for advice between a car and truck based suv, then I can't imagine how you could go wrong with a 4runner ... .

New to me livin lite quicksilver 6.0

I guess this would be the correct place to post this? I have for a while wanted a smaller trailer to pull off road for storage space and a more comfy sleeping arrangement. I thought about trailers with a rtt , but the idea of getting my dog in and out was a problem.... I then looked at offroad...

    North Carolina

So, just read something on a new offroad park supposedly in the valle crucis area (5 minutes from boone NC). Very little details on their web site. Funny, this is 5 minutes from my house, and only read about it today. Place is called patriot mountain. If anyone gets any info on this place...

    2WD

Really cool video. And I agree that there is no reason to not stick a locker in a 2wd if that's what you have, and go have fun in it!

    2WD

I thank you for the information on how differentials and 4wd work. It was an informative read, for sure. I do understand where you are coming from, and can't blame you for pointing out the shortcomings in my response . The only reason for my post was to add my opinion on the merits of a 4wd...

    2WD

I am sorry, but such a broad statement such as a locked rear wheel drive vehicle has the same drive capabilities as a open 4wd vehicle is misleading. Many different variables go into traction offroad, such as wheel travel, weight balance and the such. I have driven many places in a locked...

    North Carolina

New member here from Boone, NC... If anyone is ever up this way and down for a easy trail ride (all the difficult stuff is gone) hit me up. A few easier rides in this area are the dust bowl on beech, and the loop down around roseborrow.

    North Carolina Primitive camping

Try the Wilson creek area. Some of the nicest hiking areas in the southeast. I have spent hundreds of nights in this area, one of my favorite places on earth. If you are willing to hike a few hours, native fish can be found. Best fishing you will ever find. Go by the mast store for a map, it is...
