Welcome @MIke Smith ! I, too, love the old Troopers. My father had a '90 that I loved, but unfortunately it suffered from rust issues late in its life having spent many years in upstate NY. He still has a '98 that he uses for hunting and fishing and that thing is also pretty stout.
Looks like this is going to be a very clean, well thought out build. I don't know why, but I tend to like the simpler JK builds over the extravagant, 6 inch lift on 37 inch tire JKs. An aftermarket roof rack with a utilitarian design and a slight lift is all they seem to need, as they're so...
Ouch, a boo boo indeed. Good news is that that most of the damage appears to be cosmetic (just guessing here) and no one was hurt. Also......do I see an aftermarket bumper in your future? Seems like the perfect opportunity to upgrade, hah.
I drove the Obstruction Point Rd last summer, as well. It terminates at the intersection of some amazing hiking trail heads that handrail the Olympic Mountain Ridgelines (as I'm sure you know, Steve). Thanks for the great photo! Here's one of me on Obstruction Point:
...and here's the kind of...
Welcome, Dave! I've seen your X and bumpers many times over on TNX.org. I'm new to the OB forums myself, but it's always nice to have another Xer on board.

What kind of RTT are you...
@utspoolup Yeah, BS had the bumper out to me the day I paid for it. Very quick turn around. I love the Max bumpers, he makes awesome stuff. I hear you on the ladder, I went with the drive side originally in fear that the passenger side would interfere with my rear view camera. I've seen your...
Thanks you, all, for the warm welcome.
I actually just picked up a Bucksnort rear bumper from over on TNX.org. It doesn't have a tire carrier, but is made with the ability to add one later should you desire. What it does give me is an integrated hitch receiver and recovery points, which I've...
I'm new to the forums, so I thought I'd take the time to start a build thread and introduce everyone to my fun-wagon.
I've owned it since January of 2014, bought it new. It's my DD and adventure mobile, and helped me make two cross-country moves in the past 18 months. It's got a modest 3"...
Howdy, folks. I've been perusing the site for a while, but finally signed up and thought I'd take the time to introduce myself. My name's Josh and I'm currently living in Lacey, Washington. I'm in the military, so I've lived in three different states in the past 18 months (NY, AZ, and now WA)...
