    Aphroducky, a VW Bus

Back at it. Spent last weekend rebuilding the rear brakes and axles, today put in a new MC. Need to get some bubble flare lines to finish hooking it up, then it will both run and stop. Had a VW buddy from NH make the trip over this morning to deliver the MC, help out, and just hang out. Good...

    Aphroducky, a VW Bus

Minor setback. Full pump installed, fired it up and it ran. Speaking of fire... A wire going from my VR into the main harness and up to the dash light melted down. Normally, inconvenient, but when the hot, melted insulation drops into a puddle of brake clean, things get a little toasty:(...

    Aphroducky, a VW Bus

More progress yesterday, dash top panel out, sanded, painted. Wiper arms and motor cleaned up, lubed, contacts\terminals refreshed, new washer lines run, gauge bulbs replaced, grounds cleaned up while the dash apart. Time to replace the fan... Today they predict snow. FML. I got my...

The weather up here is finally starting to cooperate. I still have a few snowbanks left but was able to drag Ducky out of the side yard and over to where I can work on him. Sunday was mid-60s and dry, so I alternated between HoneyDo list and working on him. I've amassed just about everything I...

    Maine Overlanders

This is awesome, thanks for sharing. It's cool to see this through your lens, makes me realize just how history and beautiful our state is. I love that you spent so much time showing the views of and from Ft Knox, I saw my mom's place :D

Do we have a Van registry?

Not that I've seen, though there are several build threads for a variety of vans.

    Any Ketogenic “Keto“ Overlanders?

Acutely ADD here, caffeine is one of my food groups. Mellows me out, helps me focus, and let me ditch the amphetamine prescription:). I have a Bunn brewer, that 3 minutes for whole pot brew time is key when you down 12-15 pots a day...

Sounds nice, wish I could join :(. If you check out Fort Knox, wave across the river to my mom, she lives overlooking the fort from the Bucksport side :)

    Any Ketogenic “Keto“ Overlanders?

If you don't mind PDF format, I'll share these to anyone that wants one for free. Excuse any typos, they are the pre-print proofs from a couple of my cookbooks that are on Amazon, but the price is right :). Ketofy Everything but the Kitchen Sink (anthology of all my recipes)...

    Plain vs Serrated knife

The curved blade is a paracord blade. I used to have one of these years ago (though you’ll never catch me jumping outta a plane), the other blade is a switch blade. Supposed to be used for cutting parachute rigging. That curved blade will cut you to the bone just looking at it.

    Plain vs Serrated knife

Both. Plain blade for just about everything, a serrated for emergency purposes. Nothing goes through a seat belt like serrated unless it is a paracord blade, but those take some extra thinking to get it right. A serrated is out, under, rip, done.

Thanks. I have the cooler (40qt Coleman thermoelectric), futons, 1000w inverter, CB, 2m/70m mobile (working on my tech license), 2-burner for outside, the above mentioned lights, and some other little bits. I'm a bit of a scrounger\horse trader so hoping to do this without having to eat PB&J...

    Aphroducky, a VW Bus

Hmph. Where do I start? The hardest part to a build thread I think is getting it started. Made many road trips to camp spots over the years when the kids were still in school. At the time it was a series of RAM trucks, dog and kids in the back seat, coolers, cabin tent, and everything else in...

    Hello from New Hampshire!

Welcome to the group! You ever get in a bind, I'm over on the other side of Lovell, ME between Stoneham and Bethel, 40 minutes away outside of snowstorms or tourists :). Lived 25 years in Dover, good to see locals. Used to do a lot of wheeling in Gonic and Lee.
