National Forest you can essentially camp anywhere as long as it's a certain distance from the road. And you can only have fires in established fire rings and such .
So for dispersed camping this means yellow post sites only
Crappy part is that no yellow post site = no fire but there a few really cool spots that are very open with good views along allot of the forest roads. I'll see if I can find my favorite and post it up here.
I want to tackle the expedition portal Arizona Traverse over the 4th of July holiday. It looks like a fun laid back trip with a lot of cool stops and scenery. My typical travel buddy is deploying so I'm looking for a another rig or two. If anyone's interested let me know...
Anyone interested in doing the Arizona Traverse during the 4th of July holiday? Cool trip I saw on expedition portal.

The trip has self scaling difficulty and shouldn't prove too difficult for anything shy of a Prius.
There are several different trails each having different difficulty levels. It can certainly go down most of them. It can likely do the more hardcore ones too if you're willing to risk some light body damage.
Looking to put together a Mojave road trip. My current plan is to leave San Diego the evening of the 24th and camp at the trail head on the Barstow side that night. Then drive home Sunday from Needles NV.
I've done the trail before, and I've got one more rig including mine that's planning on...
Still looking to do a Mojave road trip from the evening of the 24th and back the 27th if anyone is interested. Idea is to leave after work the 24th and camp that night at the head of the trail on the Barstow side. Then back to San Diego that Sunday from Needles.
I'm thinking of a Mojave road trip from the 24th through the 28th. Tentative plan is meet near the Barstow entrance evening of the 24th Thursday and start the trail that next morning. It's an easy trail, doesn't require any real modifications.
Something in the water maybe?
I'm shooting for a 4 day trip Thursday evening though Sunday. Drive up too the start Thursday and hit the trail Friday and head home Sunday after we finish though we could cut a day if collectively needed.
I'm thinking either the Mojave road or the Camino del Diablo near Yuma. Neither are difficult or require many (if any) vehicle modifications. I've been craving a trip lately though.
