No problems on the gate keeper at Richland. Just kinda drove right up it soon as traction control began doing its thing. When I went last year it had been pouring rain so it made it a fun time. I think with out all the rain it would have been kinda boring. Windrock was still the most fun I’ve...
Preciate it! I feel it is very odd that you ask me where I go on a forum that it meant for it haha (sarcasm). So I go to uwharrie a few times a year, it is pretty close as you well know. I’ve also taken a long weekend trip to windrock off-road park in Tennessee. That was a great trip and we had...
Thank you I appreciate the compliment. However I doubt it is the same bumper, the previous owner made both the front and rear bumpers. As far as mounting the lights I just drilled holes in the bumper to mount them, then painted the area to prevent rust.
Uwharrie is your closest off-road spot that I can’t think of but it closes every year in December until March for trail maintenance. So it is closed right now. You can see if brown mtn is open that is near Morganton. Also you can head over to hurricane creek which is close to the NC TN boarder.
Then to me it really sounds like your new thermostat will fix it. I had the exact same symptoms with the lower hose being cold and the upper one being hot.
Ha, I had a very similar experience. My thermostat had decided it was not going to work intermittently. Ordered and installed a new low temp oem thermostat. Got it installed then had worse overheating issues. Pulled the new thermostat and put it in water over the stove and monitored the temp and...
Amazing thread. In the past year I have put a Atlantic British long block in my 04 along with the low temp thermostat. Then it was still getting hot and I found a few leaks. So I replaced all the hoses to find the radiator had now sprung a leak. Currently waiting on my new radiator to arrive...
Here is my contribution to the registry my 04 disco. I have recently installed a new AB long block and it is going strong. This is my second Rover used to have a 01 disco. Missed it so much I had to buy another
Yeah I went out in it too, drove from concord to Lenoir, then to Asheville, our to Brevard, back to Asheville to spend the night, then up to blowing rock the next morning, then back home. Ran into about 12-14” in Brevard and about 2-3’ in blowing rock. Had a blast, and never once got close to...
Wow great looking rig, just read all the thread, I look forward to updates! I really think after I retire the Land Rover I will most likely make the jump to a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Long overdue update. Since last posting the truck has received a brand new Atlantic British long block, new radiator and 180 thermostat. I have also made a few other upgrades that were not quite as significant on the wallet. I have added some 9" led lights to the roof, some kc highlights pro led...
Headed out next weekend to Richland rd bear lenior NC for a weekend trip. This will be the first small overlanding trip I’ve taken with the Rover. I’m excited to see how it goes and get ideas for what works and doesn’t work as far as vehicle ergonomics. Should have some ideas for new projects...
Hah
Haha thank you, this isn’t my first Rover, I’ve previosuly owned a 01 discovery. I’ve delt with the amigos. And yes I forgot to add that pan hard bar to list of planned mods. As well as the quick disconnects for the sway bar.
