JK Cowl Armor - Warrior Products

I weigh about 180 and it works fine.

    Camp Stove

+1 on the Primus Tupike. I got a Coleman from REI but returned it because the flame control was...well, awful. The primus is much better made and has really fine flame control that doesn't hunt over time. The built in ignitors are a nice touch. Pressing from the side makes it less likely for me...

    Coffee Set Ups

The SP press fits on a backpacking stove fine. It is too small for your normal two burner camp stove, though. I heat the water in the kettle first.

JK Cowl Armor - Warrior Products

I climb up on the cowling of my Jeep to set up the front of my RTT. I've never felt 100% comfortable with this so I found this armor to add a little structure and a surface friendlier to muddy boots. Installation was relatively easy. It does involve drilling a few holes and installing pop...

Nantahala National Forest/ Great Smoky Mountains State Park?

Hoping to find some good suggestions on this thread. I'm in Greenville, SC. There is a little trail here but it's usually a drive to North Georgia.

    Coffee Set Ups

Coffee is nearly a religion to me. :) Start with good beans - freshly roasted & ground. I heat water with my GSI kettle. I love the kettle but wish the lid snapped into place. On solo trips, I use my Snowpeak french press. On family trips, I use the larger GSI french press. The Snowpeak double...

Jumping Off Rock - Upstate South Carolina

I camped out on the peninsula during the Christmas / New Years break right on the lake. It's a PERFECT spot. I'm bummed that it won't be open during the summer since there are gorgeoud beaches 30 yards from the end of Bootlegger Road. I suppose if they left it open it would be over traveled and...

Jumping Off Rock - Upstate South Carolina

Bummed to hear that. I was hoping to go out to the peninsula on Bootlegger and camp in the next couple of weeks. I guess I'll have to wait. Thanks for the update!

    KELLY KETTLE /STORM KETTLE

I have a version called the Backcountry Boiler. https://backcountryboiler.com/ It is a limited product in that it only boils water but it does it really well. You can start a twig fire in it and very quickly get about a liter of boiling water. That's great for rehydrating food or sterilizing...

    Head Lamp Suggestions

+1 on the ZebraLight. They're a bit more expensive but a lot better and last for as long as you care to own it.

    Camp stoves

In the lightweight backpacking world we make pot stands out of welded wire / hardware cloth. Its light, cheap & effective. If you do a google image search on pepsi can stove pot support you'll get lots of ideas.

    FLASHLIGHTS

I got this one for Christmas. You can charge via USB and use it to charge devices if you want. The beam adjusts from beam to flood. The head can pivot to be an inline or 90 degree light (4 positions total).
