Where is the Buttermilk Falls trail you mention? I see two areas in NJ that don't appear near each other, and I'm interested in learning about the terrain and hopefully joining the ride.

Nice job and seems to meet your needs simply. My concern using my 4Runner as a daily driver is the added height of the 90 degree fill. I can see that as a catch point in some low garages and also on trails. Is that a concern for you, @SirWilliam ?
Received and installed Southern Style Offroad rock sliders on my 2016 4Runner Trail.
Decided to keep them bare metal (oiled) for now. Might paint or powder coat if I can decide on the color.
I like your approach. I went with stock size and C-rated tires for tread wear, ride quality and noise. Won't trade up to truck tires unless I find the 2-ply sidewalls inadequate. I think the 6-ply treads will do me just fine.
No way I buy another plastic valance. I'd rather put STP stickers on...
And I went from a high powered BMW coupe to make more room for our new dog to enjoy the ride. Then I caught the offroad bug. Can you hear that sucking sound? I think my vacuum pump is directly connected to my bank account.

I'm sure I'll end up with one of the Lo Pro bumpers, but it leads to adding a light bar, etc. Before I'm done, that purchase is $1k. In fact, every purchase for this rig seems to be around $1k and up. And I thought my other hobbies were expensive...
I'm actually leaning toward the Southern...
Steve,
A question just came to mind as I drive around more in my 2016 T4R Trail and read about your build (I keep it bookmarked says the stalker).
I see you have stock Trail wheels and what appears to be stock sized BFG KO2s. I see rock sliders (mine from SSO are on order) but no apparent...
Thanks @codesertrat. I was on the RCI site last night and would like to have their full underside armor. Doesn't look like it comes up to replace that plastic silver piece that I keep hitting. For now, the RCI skid plates would simply be a much more robust version of the OEM Toyota skids.
Here...
Sorry if I have missed this answer.
I am running a 2016 4Runner Trail and want to delay replacing the front bumper for a while. The vehicle comes stock with thin, basic skid plates but has a large silver plastic valence up front that comes down low and is constantly getting scraped.
The TRD...
The key advantage of the Traction Jacks for me is the folded size. I keep my gear inside my vehicle, do space is critical. TJs have worked great and been versatile (see my comments above). They also got me out of my predicament. I was just disappointed that one broke.
Sounds like I'm learning...
Assessed the underside damage from last Sunday's trail riding at Rausch Creek.
Ended up removing the OEM running boards from my 2016 T4R Trail due to bracket damage (SSO rock sliders already in process). I think she looks better this way.
Also checked out to factory skid plate damage...
