So...I've been toying with the idea of going a different direction on the front bumper. No issues with the Southern Style bumper, but looking at something with a little more protection. A few "close calls", and some friends who have had too close encounters, has me thinking. When I did my...
I have a Tepui awning (orange), and the corresponding awning room (tan), for sale. Nothing wrong with either - we sold the trailer this was specifically used for. I don't recall when we purchased them, but I think it was only a couple years ago. Asking $375 for both.

I looked at these as well, and I really liked what they had to offer. I had a few questions on them though. The first was the lift mechanism. I'm sure it's battle tested and all, but it always seems that when you go with moving parts it seems as they always fail at the most inopportune...
I placed an order for some running boards. Not a huge fan of them in the past. I've not ventured down the path of the true rock rails as this is my daily driver, and I just don't see banging my truck over giant rocks or bolder fields. Don't get me wrong, the truck sees it's share of...
Don't know the part number, but the OME Dakar leaf spring is listed at about $540 and the extra leaf about $90 extra. I got a little break on the price since I bundled it with a host of parts. Depending on what you want to do, and how much weight you're going to carry, I might opt just for...
I use my rear seats too often to go with a platform, but I really like the ones people come up with. I wish my Tundra back seat was like my Tacoma. They both have the under seat storage, but I like the way you access the empty/storage area behind the seat in the Tacoma, and the back of the...
We've got a dog as well, and certainly one of the considerations in each of the builds we've done is a place for her to ride. While there are many ways to take your dog along we prefer to have her inside the cab with us, but I also like to have a little larger place for her to lounge if the...
I actually thought about a work rack. there are some that are specifically designed to fit around a shell - even fitting up a little more snug to the shell. Costs were in the $200-$600 range, and they can be modified to utilize quite a few things. Any weight on the rack is transferred down...
Thanks. So far no complaints, other than too much chrome when the truck came off the lot, but everything seems to be working as I had envisioned. I've been going back and forth on using my Yakima roof top box for some extra lockable storage for some of our trips. I've had it forever so it...
Yes, I've got all the sensors. No issues. You have to unplug the sensors during the install but just long enough to get things into place then they're plugged back in. The bumper is just about flush like the stock so it doesn't seem to interfere with the sensors "field of view".
Mine is the 100XR. So far very pleased with the fit and finish. I had a fleeting thought to get the higher roof 180XR (mostly for using the shell and a sleeping platform), but I'm glad I stayed with the more streamlined version. I really like the side windoors as they make getting stuff out...
Thanks. The sensors on mine are in the outer portions of the front bumper that you don't have to cut. During the installation you have to unplug the sensors so you can move the bumper around a little, but then plug them back in as you put everything back together.
Thanks. So far so good. Just got back from a week down around Bishop, Lone Pine and the west side of Death Valley. One of the days we took the Saline Valley road for a little over 70 miles of dirt (think the total loop was around 150 miles). No issues with the shell moving around. It was...
I use a Yeti cooler right now so I can't say from experience, but there is 25 1/2" from the top of the Decked system to the top of the Leer shell rear hatch (there are a few more inches of space inside the shell). I believe the fridges I have looked at would fit.
One of the things I liked about the Decked system is it's pretty easy to take out. It's held down at the four corner factory tie down points (they supply an L bracket which replaces your factory hooks). Unload the drawers, take out the J hooks and unscrew the center screws and the system is...
Thanks.
I like the RTTs, but my wife wasn't as big a fan. She thought the interior was comfortable and roomy. She didn't mind the climb up into the tent at Tepui's shop, but she figured it might be a little sketchy going down for a midnight bathroom run. Now that it's even higher all I get...
Thanks.
Still trying to figure out how to transport the tandem :)
If I was the shuttle guy, I could probably do a 4 bike rack on the back, coupled with the 3 or so I can carry up top (if the top box isn't there). I was hoping to be able to carry one, or two, inside by removing the seat post...
