Awesome!! I don't have any plans this weekend. Here is what we are looking at. https://www.bpfabricating.com/collections/tacoma/products/tacoma-recovery-tow-hook
I get that is supposed to be a simple bolt on project, but what I haven't been able to find out is what the bolts need to be torqued to.
So far I have only checked out a few roads near my place off Maccaren in North Reno.
I am however looking for some help installing my new front recovery point that I just got from Bulletproof Fab. At the moment I don't have access to any of my tools or a place to work. If anyone could help I...
This is great!
I'm still fairley new to the Reno area so I would love to meet any local members. I'm free on the weekends as well as after 5 pm during the week depending on my work schedule.

I just got mine delivered. From what I get this is a simple bolt with the stock bolts but do I need them torqued to a specific spec?

Maybe I'm just missing something, but how do I best determine if a tires Load Carrying Capacity will be sufficient for the truck plus any add one's that we are thinking of possibly getting?
To my understanding, the tire under consideration should equal or exceed the OE load specson the Tire...
My current daily driver is a stock 2014 2WD Toyota Tacoma with the same Dunlop AT20's (P245/75R16) that came with it. Our plan is to go camping more often, as well as explore all the public land that Reno has to offer.
The video was great. Thanks for the recommendation.
One question I have though. How do you determine if a tire will be too heavy for your vehicle as mentioned by @professorkx "In addition, Pay attention to the weight of the tire, as this is all unsprung weight, so you want a tire in your size...
Our main goal is to find trails that will let us camp out in secluded areas or just get away. We have never rock crawled before and are pretty new to offroading.
The upcoming relocation is the result of my work relocating me to our new facility. The cost to operate a new facility in Reno in...
I'm still new to having a truck but where do I start when taking weight of the tires in to consideration? How do I determine what the best weight ratio would be?

The family and I are just getting started which is why we are still running the stock tires (P245/75R16) on my everyday driver. I have a stock 2WD 2014 Tacoma.
Tires were going to be my first purchase especially since we will be relocating soon. I do have the KO2's on my list as well as the GG...
At the moment I am based in San Jose, Ca and still running the tries that came with the truck but I will be relocating to Reno, Nv in the coming months. I am looking to buy my first set of all-terrain tires but I'm not sure where to start.
Which brand do you use/ recommend?
How big of a tire...
Thanks!
Aside from already needing to replace my current tires. Are there any areas of the truck that we should focus on first (safety, recovery or upgrade wise)? We currently camp near the closest reservoir most of the time but our plan is to start taking trails deeper into the surrounding hills.
That is nice to know. At the moment I do know that tires and safety gear will be our next purchases. The tires that came with the truck are reaching their end.

Busy work schedules keep my better half (Jessica) and I pretty busy. But as the little one gets older, we have decided that taking time for us and getting away from the daily hustle and bustle is what we want...
