I also have the backbone rack system and have had a a RTT mounted. When researching I found it to be the best for strength with a good low profile.

Not sure but each battery manufacturer will have a recommended charge voltage and current requirements. Usually on their spec sheet.

Hi Ryan,
It wouldn't work as you need a higher voltage to charge the battery, if you connected a charged battery to an uncharged it would equalise if both batteries are the same capacity.
Sorry just reading through your post again and noted I missed a question from you. Yes I do have a switch with a status light in the cab to change modes.

I'm interested but as I've been on leave for the past month this will be my first weekend back which may lead to some OT that weekend. Will see how next week goes.

The USI-160 is mounted under the bonnet next to the main battery and to bring the camper battery online to charge, I just connect the camper to the Jeep.
I think the only difference between the SC-80 and USI-160 is the higher amps to handle winch mode. If you have any questions send an email to Tim at Traxide (tell him Dave from Rolasolar referred you). One of the good guys that likes a chat.
My setup is a portable 200watt rollable solar charge...
Hi wrmmt,
In my opinion the Traxide isolators (Manufactured in Australia) are the best on the market, I have no connection to this company :). I have had one fitted in my last four vehicles (last 15 years). In most situations the SC-80 would do the job well, I currently have a USI-160 dual...
