Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

You know that’s a question that I am honestly asking myself. I truly have no “need” for either daily. Simply put them in for SHTF moments or trail comms. GMRS more so to be able to talk to walkies at the lake if someone takes the kayak out/goes for a walk so I theoretically could just leave...

Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

I can’t get the one photo to flip right on my phone. But this is where they first were, and where they currently are spread farther apart.

Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

i have confirmed that I do have antenna interference. I did a little playing with it this morning I moved the antennas as far apart on the crossbar as possible. With them at each side, it no longer freezes up the GMRS, but I do now see signal show up on the screen of it while the cb is keyed...

Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

That’s the direction that I am headed after all the great advice, and research this morning. I think for the weekend, I am going to move them apart by sliding my mounts out to the edge of the cross bars to see if it helps, then order the mount midland sells that takes my GMRS to the LH hood...

Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

I do have a shorter nmo as Well as a couple mag mount gmrs antennas. I may order a hood mount and move the gmrs up there. I went up high for range, but that would space me apart as well as put them at different heights.

Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

Thanks for the advice guys. as far as a better description, the gmrs screen shows the channel, but does not respond to any buttons including the power button. I will split power/grounds next week. then if that doesn’t help it sounds like I may have to move the gmrs antenna up front somewhere

Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

Antennas are 3’ Firestick and midland 6db gain if that matters at all. My other thought was maybe it was catching antenna interference.

Can gmrs and cb share power supply?

I installed my mxt275 gmrs as well as cobra 75 cb under my console, both controllers near each other. I ran a single power supply to both radios from a free slot in the fuse block, using a fuse tap. Then grounded them at a bolt holding the park break mechanism in place. I also have both...

    2020 texas unlimited offroad show

Yep. I never went, but it was always really popular with everyone when I dipped into the local mud racing crowd for a brief while decades ago. They say it’s one hell of a party though. Lol

It is sad to see events slowly diminish in quality/what they have. Makes me fearful that over time they may no longer exist. At least not the local ones.

HUGO TO DURANT LEG OF THE OKLAHOMA ADVENTURE TRAIL (OAT)

I really wish I would’ve gone this morning. I woke up and started to head down south of sulphur, ok to catch the OAT toward carpenters bluff. Been wanting to photo that bridge for years just haven’t taken the time. If I hadn’t decided to do yard work I might’ve met up with you at some point.

Everyone has their own taste, and regardless, they put time into the vehicle so I can respect that. But i will always smile when I see a bro truck not make an obstacle, or break trying it.

Baofeng uv5r with 50watt amp? GMRS

The inconvenience of the coax attached to the radio is exactly why i ordered my mxt275. I haven’t had much luck catching anyone in range to talk with on mine but just messing with it in the car made me want a mobile unit.

Baofeng uv5r with 50watt amp? GMRS

I bought this for a quick easy grab and go gmrs that can hit repeaters and allows to listen only on HAM bands. BTECH GMRS-V1 GMRS Two-Way Radio, GMRS Repeater Capable, with Dual Band Scanning Receiver (136-174.99mhz (VHF) 400-520.99mhz (UHF)) then ended up ordering a midland mxt275 to leave...

    Led lights suck

I worked with a guy that put led headlights in his car, he had nothing but problems out of them. He also ended up switching back to his halogen by the end of it. I decided not to order them after watching his experience. But they were bright as hell when they worked. Lol

Post pictures of your camp kitchen

This is what I did for ours. Simple, but gets the job done. The topper on the drawer only limits the storage height by about 3/4 inch with the table top covers installed.
