Over the years I've collected so much stuff/junk/gear that has proven to be either a great, or not so great investment. Some things look good on paper and fail in action, and some things perform better than expected in real life.

One of the most important mods you should never skimp on (imo) is tires. Your entire rig rests upon the safety and reliability of those tires. I've had my KO2's for almost two years and I think they're fantastic. If it's a one tire situation for you I'd highly recommend them.
I've been all over Baja for several different reasons / vacations but have not driven down myself for more remote exploration. I look forward to doing this and may bump it up in the grand schedule of life! Thanks for the inspiration :)

I've had two of these water/coffee bottles for a couple years that I LOVE, so I bought one of their growlers too. Haven't used it yet though as my wife pretty much commandeered it for her frikin iced tea… *frustrated face*

Be prepared for a lot of tourists in the popular areas of the park (Grand Prismatic, Old Faithful etc…). Like stated above, if you're going to be that close you might as well check out the Tetons and Jackson Hole area. Very worth while. Everywhere around Yellowstone...
