A couple of things this weekend got me thinking about this issue, and I wanted to share those with the f0rum. I spent the weekend camping in the White River National Forest - I had no cell reception for about 48 hours (which was a much needed forced disconnect). On Saturday, I went up to Crystal...
The Sprinter build is annoying and the summer is fleeting, so I took the doors off the Jeep and went for a ride with some friends. Watched the sunset at 12k feet, then did a little stargazing.

GEOS in particular offers a multitude of membership options. The one I have specifically covers one individual, but they have plans for couples, families, organizations, and you can also create custom plans.
I would recommend visiting the GEOS website and browsing through the membership plan...
I thought I would also provide some detail on cost of a SAR card, as an example, since I spoke about cost of GEOS plans. I have updated the main post with my experience here in CO as well as a link to purchase a SAR card, but those from other states, feel free to reply with links / costs of SAR...
I don't think that's a necessary or appropriate comment, especially from a moderator and a staff member, nor do I think it's in line with the ethos of OB.
I also don't see an issue with someone putting twine with bells on it around their camp to alert them to guests, whether human or non-human...
It’s also easy to lay on a queen sized mattress [emoji12]
Plus, I’ll be putting mule storage bags on the walls above the bed. Sleeping sideways with those things hanging off the walls above my head or feet would annoy me.
Glad you like your flares, but they’re not for me.
I’ll be passing on the side flares.
I have a buddy that’s shorter than I am that’s been in a Sprinter with them, and he said he wasn’t able to lay down on the bed across the width of the van, even with the flares. Below the bed, the added space of the flares would just be wasted.
Plan is, bunk...
Okay, so I'm going to layout my build plan, as it were, thus far...
My mantra for this build is K.I.S.S. - I hope no one out there doesn't know what that acronym means
My plans so far...
Exterior:
Matte black hood wrap, maybe even the side rocker panels and the front of the high roof...
True words... I've been thinking about this build for about 2 years. Going to use the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) mantra. Keeping it modular, and not going to go overboard.
Now, some of you may be thinking... A van, Jason? Really? Well, if you are thinking that, you probably don't know the awesomeness that is a Sprinter van.
The reason for the van? Snowboarding, mountain biking, early morning hiking, and maybe some longer road trips, since even though the seats...
Alright, I told myself I was going to get my Jeep build thread caught up to present before I started another build thread here...
But, who am I kidding? I was lying to myself. Actually, I've got the next Jeep post already typed up and almost posted it, but... well, it's complicated.
THIS IS...
