I think you may be confusing “needs” with “wants”. I assure you 90% of the crap being shilled and hocked as “Overland“ is most certainly NOT needed by anyone to actually go car camping.
Garmin now forces you to use their Earthmate app. You cannot use a 3rd party app and the Inreach Mini 2 will no longer send GPS data to other apps i.e. Gaia, Google Maps, etc…
If only Gazelle would make the rain fly larger on all their tents this probably would not be needed at all.
That said I’ve seen that too and I happen to be on the Gazelle Owners FB page where apparently Gazelle QC has gone down during and post Covid. Lot of complaints and examples of just shoddy...
I just suppose it must be hard for some folks to “reconnect” with nature when they’re bringing every comfort you can get at a Hilton hotel, a Michelin star rated restaurant as well as a TV production studio to film themselves CAR CAMPING.
Have had mine 4+ years like new, I’ve had them out in elements and never a drop of water. I have 4 total but did buy two tall lids for times I need the extra space.
