    Definition of Overlanding

The clouds part and the warming ransom the sun shine yet on another who has seen the truth. You will probably note that the popularity/craze of 'overlanding' goes hand-n-hand with the rise of hipsters and those insipid 'man buns'. Slap 'OVERLANDING' on anything and they will buy it. If you...

What is the Quintessential Camp Food?

As far as I know you'd take it with you. Homemade versions - at the camp site - would be rather tedious and labor intensive IMHO. Unless I'm confusing these rusks with something else, they are just a more refined version of hardtack.

What is the Quintessential Camp Food?

We still make it from time to time here at home, it's comfort food. We add peas to ours. If you want to get really fancy... make homemade and try salmon with an appropriate smoked cheese. Same goes for Lobster, crab, chicken and even pork or beef.

Simple 20Lb Propane Rack Mount Solution

Most DIY hardware stores would have it. An old tire inner tube, from something bigger than a bicycle. You could wrap the metal handle with the inner tube rubber, it wouldn't slip then.

    Aluminum Sand Ladders

Thought I would share these pics. They are from an original Land Rover that participated in the 1992 Camel Trophy held in Guyana (it’s up for sale). The sand ladders are most definitely surplus Marston Mats and they didn't even bother to trim the edges off. The edges actually grab into the...

Paper maps? still a thing or no?

I've been through several land nav courses through the years, starting with Scouts and ending with the Army. Even with all of them my sense of direction sucks, it's a rolling joke amongst friends and family. I can honestly state that the most nerve wracking land nav course I've ever had to...

    Aluminum Sand Ladders

I am getting this style as well... HOWEVER - before you plunk down THAT kind of money do an internet search for 'Marston Mats'. You can typically get 16 in x 10 feet for $75 or less. The 18 in x 10 feet are usually around $100.

    Let them eat SPAM!

My favorite ways to eat spam are - fried with some mint jelly; sliced, lightly fried and then topped with some cheese and broiled; grilled and then topped with just about anything as well as treating it like a hotdog or burger. As to "now i'm going to feel bad eating it"... taste the rainbow...
