When I process it says “Coupon not valid”. 25% Off seems reasonable & the ability for them to do so kind of proves my point. I guess I’m just always a little taken aback that the explosion in Overlanding & Off-roaring in the last 5-10 years has caused prices to skyrocket instead of moderate. I...
I would consider extending the hood anchor point up a little higher. I’m worried actual contact with some tree kinds is going to deflect that lower connector medially enough to contact & scratch your hood. Overall, looks great!
No longer working. $175 for a metal frame shipped. No thanks. I could do without the gouging. The profit margins must be incredible.

I just saw on another thread that you are in Vancouver WA now, instead of Northern AZ. Worth noting as trail riding quite a bit different here than in AZ (I’m a former Phoenician & PDXer now in Seattle). You’ll probably want more of an Overlander style rig that’s a little narrower. Overland Expo...
I would have said GX as well until I test drove one against a new 4Runner. I imagine the key is aftermarket shocks (maybe springs too). ARB Old Man Emu (OME) are reputed to have the best ride. Bilsteins are great but stiff.
Consider a day pass to Overland ExpoWest in Flagstaff next month, if...
Hey Jeff, see my posts above. I got up early, drove over & stayed until 8p on Friday last year. I’ll probably do the same on Saturday this year. If you are thinking of Saturday, I’d consider going with you. My R50 isn’t likely to be Trail ready so I’m just going for the experience. It will be a...
I agree with this 100%. I could only go for Friday last year but it was great. Conversing with the other attendees really made the event though I found the courses fundamental but interesting as well. I can only make Saturday this year but I’ll get up early, drive over the Cascades & do it again.
Okay, well at least I was right that I couldn't find it.
With regard to my truck, everything went on hold for months when a power valve came loose & it's screw was sucked into the engine. (I know you know about that kind of thing from your dropped valve seat). Frankly, I'm furious at Nissan as...
Josh, just looking at the titles, I couldn't quite tell which of your OR Backcountry VLOGs this section was? Unfortunately, I can't guarantee that my truck will be good to go by the trip date so I won't be able to join - maybe the August trip though....
Yep, the Odyssey, Northstar (X2 Power) & Optima (probably wouldn’t get anymore) can all be mounted in any orientation except upside down. Many rigs have their auxiliary battery in the passenger compartment. It’s not new, these sealed AGMs have been doing this for decades now.

They also make smaller "hand" picks, like what a geologist uses (I learned this from an ex girlfriend who was a geologist). They are small enough to be easy to pack away but you can pull them out when all you need is a little ground breaking. Obviously, it's not the same as a full sized pick axe...
Another option is just to create some small cable anchor loops with cable. You could loop them over the top & behind that corner post to keep them from shifting. I also think you could use a little less hardware. You could probably just lengthen what you already have, remove the thimble & put...
I have that weekend off but I might have to go down to PDX with my wife & kids to visit her mom. If I can talk my way out of that, I’d love to come. I won’t confirm until I know for sure.
I am planning on going to the NW Overland Rally again this year. I was only able to attend Friday of last year but I really enjoyed it. It's a Toyota Fest but I really found the people to be very inclusive and the experience was quite enjoyable.
Unfortunatley, this event occurs right after my...
