I was reading about various Comm options and methods on ITS Tactical Last year and one mentioned was HAM, I thought I should get a book, ARRL prep guide, and read up, so I went through the Tech Manual last August (2016) but...
Also Make sure to read over the FCC rules on it, they have changed some of the regulations in regards to MURS, GMRS/FRS. If I recall they changed some of the power allowances on FRS.
