Welcome to the site. I am a little south of you and am a noob as well and am reading tons of stuff and learning how to plan routs and what not. The WA people have had a couple of meet ups since I have joined and it was a great time to meet some like minded people and ask many questions from...
For about 850 or so you can get a PrinSu. But expect to wait for it. I think his racks are the best looking out there for the 4th Gen 4runners. Mine is on order.. hope to get it by the end of April.
I have one of those laying around in one of the 5 tubs of old army crap. Now I just need a 2000 dollar bumper with spare tire rack to hang it off of. Lol.
Great idea. As soon as I say Army ruck I said to myself. That is a perfect idea.
I am helping my brother build a van up and we cut the roof out of his van to put the pop top in it. It was pretty stressful. The high top looks awesome on the van.
Just bought a PrinSu rack (will be 4 weeks till it arrives).
Next big purchase will be a RTT. But am sure I will get some small stuff between for sure.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us all. I do understand how you feel first hand and have some of the same struggles as you expressed. It was great meeting you at the the PNW meet up last weekend. We will have to get out on the trails sometime..
you could make that work I am sure.. I am not sure of the measurements but You might be able to just cut the center out and put switches in there. That is perfect already.

I almost finished my switch mount for my 4th Gen 4runner. I was looking for a good spot to put switches and decided why not the sun glass holder that I never use in the overhead lights.
Thus waso my first time using fiberglass and man did I do a bunch of sanding. Lol but I think it will run...
I bought it off amazon 9 sheets for 155. I still have 4 sheets of it left over. When I feel like doing the rear seat area I will have enough. Took me half the day. I did not take pictures of it before I started putting it back together but both fender wells were covered.
