For anyone else that stumbles across this, it does sense the voltage change to switch. For my use case, without a permanently attached solar panel, there's 0 change that I'll have the solar panel setup while connected to the car.
The LiTime charger has solar input as well, right? Does it sense voltage change to determine if the vehicle is running, or is there a trigger wire that turns the charger on? I'm still waiting for my renogy chargers to die, but they haven't yet....
Edited - I answered my own question.
nice set up. ive been using LiTime for a while now and did a build with the same battery you have, but i just went with their 20A charger instead of the 40. i have a black metal tongue box and it gets pretty hot when in the sun, so i did add some extra vents (stainless marine vents for boat)...

Picked up an EcoFlow River 3 and 100w solar panel. I know it's not super powerful, but it's just fine for my needs.

Solar panels came in on Thursday. I managed to set them on the trailer, and was getting about 10-11A in what is basically winter sun. I'm curious to see how it performs during the summer months, but I'm honestly very happy with that. I went from 17% charge to 77% by the time the sun went down...
...100% and then 0% and then 100%, etc.
im learning a good bit off these threads. ive been gradually swapping a lot of stuff over to electric and with better solar panels and lifepo4 batteries, im getting to where electric is actually pretty doable out in the middle of nowhere.

The power plate with amps and volts will give actual power use. However, YES, microwaves are advertised using their MAGNETRON OUTPUT WATTS, NOT POWER USE! Most microwaves are about 65% efficient at converting input electricity to output magnetron waves... only part of that gets intercepted by...
im interested in this because i use a lot of solar and battery to operate 120v appliances...so you are saying that any microwave that has an advertised watt rating is actually going to use twice the power it is advertised as? i didnt know that. we have a lot of power outages here and ive been...

Yeah, but that'll keep things topped up, without having to worry about it. I don't currently run a fridge in there all the time, but we'll see over the winter how much I get during the day. I think I should get enough to keep one in there full time, and not have to worry.
Very cool!
edit* I have 400w of solar charging and in the sunniest situation, I've only ever seen a max realized wattage of about 320. More often it's ~250-275. For what it's worth... But it's still quick at recharging.

I've also been working on the diesel heater build design, and will have all the parts here to start building that this week.
I also just ordered 400w of solar to put on the trailer. Hopefully, that eliminates having to worry about charging, like....ever.

I'm pretty sure I'll be going with solar power generators as well. Just like the idea of them being silent. Once I get to the point of purchasing that I'll be comparing all factors (size...
