    Frequency Discussion and Education

I'm asking questions to promote discussion for the members. It is unfortunate that you view promoting discussion is combative. I see you are are now personally attacking me and my questions. I have a idea why don't you read Part 95 and tell us what it says instead of attacking a OLB member who...

    Frequency Discussion and Education

FRS is 2 watts max on certain frequency's. FRS is .5 watts max on certain frequency. Could you please explain why some FSR frequencys are 2 watt max and other FSR frequency's are .5 watt max?

No....I do not know the answers, I ask questions to promote discussion. We have not even addressed the GMRS/FSR antenna rules for hand held / mobiles.

    Frequency Discussion and Education

OLB has made recommendations for communications. I think it is a GREAT idea and concept. As a radio operator/user it is your responsibility to know the laws, rules, and regulations regarding radio usage. What is a legal radio to use and what radios are illegal to use? Do you know what a...

    Frequency Discussion and Education

I know of individuals that have have programmed GMRS and FSR frequency's into their Baofeng and Anytone radios. My understanding is the newer radios that are coming out "may" have different channel numbers for the frequency's.

    Frequency Discussion and Education

That would be fair to you members. You and I know reading the rules and regs is and can be confusing at times. I think I get it.....but I'm not really sure.

    Frequency Discussion and Education

I'm not over thinking it. I'm stating OLB is going to confuse its members by just stating GMRS channel 15. FRS 462.550 does not require a license if you follow the correct regulations/rules. Has OLB made that clear to its members? No OLB has not. Has OLB made it clear to it members the...

    Frequency Discussion and Education

Ken, OLB should be clear to its members on how to use the frequency 462.550. You and I both know you can use FSR 462.550 with out a licence and you can use GMRS 462.550 with a license. I feel OLB could be setting up its members by not explaining the differences.

    Frequency Discussion and Education

So, OLB is recommending to use the GMRS 462.550 where you need a license, correct? Not recommending to use the FSR 462.550 where you do not need a licenses, correct? If OLB is suggesting to use 462.550 then OLB should explain and be clear to its members how to use the frequency 462.550 with...

    Frequency Discussion and Education

You are leaving out the restrictions for the use of GMRS and FSR. So far no one has answered the question if you need a license or not to use the frequency 462.550. I'm assuming this the the frequency that OLB is recommending to use? Correct?

    Frequency Discussion and Education

GMRS you need a license. FSR you do not need a license. You answer is confusing. I'll ask again what is the frequency?

    New Midland MXT275 (GMRS Mobile)

I agree. Most off road vehicles I run with have CB radios. It is low cost and easy to tell them what channel to be on. I have a CB, Ham, GMRS, and FSR. When we have a run we have 10 to 23 vehicles show up. EVERYONE has a CB radio. Maybe 6 have Ham radios. No one seems to have GMRS or FSR.

    Frequency Discussion and Education

Ham and GMRS requires a licenses. CB and FSR does not require a license. Where is the FSR channel/frequency for those who do not have a Ham and or a GMRS license? The GMRS channel is 15 but you do not confirm the frequency or if a CTCSS/DCS is used?

Anyone have issues with high CG trailers off-road?

Depending on you use of a trailer and what type of road surface and angles your adventures will take you on CG is something you need to consider. Moabaz makes a very interesting RTT tent lift for their trailers. It keeps CG low while traveling.
