Updates from the adventures of Will. Last we left off, I had just finished the hammock setup and had discovered the flaw that thin wall tubing didn't have the shear strength I needed.
So, I have since redone the mounts to use 1" square hitch matierial and started with a rear 2" hitch for...
Great to hear guys, and Its stock vehicle friendly, so you all will have a great time out there.
We are doing a trip to potts mountain Sept 8th. If anyone is interested. Its a little harder of a trail. But I'll be taking my sidekick
Big Dogs is A LOT OF FUN, but its more of a huge drinking party. I'll only go back if I had another buggy.
There aren't as many fun ride around trails when all the hardcore buggy guys are trying to have fun and get their broken rigs out.
Hi all,. Sorry I missed the last Meetup, had some previous stuff planned. Anyways, I'm hosting 2 clubs for a camping trip to potts mountain Sept 8th. If anyone is interested please let me know.
Also, Scott at dinoot is a heck of a stand up guy.
Well, I learned so much after camping out in thw hammock last weekend. First of which, the hammock mounts in round tube are not the right thing. I'll have to cut the ends off and weld some square tubing in there. Second is that I needed additional ground supports. The cars spare jack worked...
More goodies from sidetracked off-road!!
I'm a big fan of overkill for lights, but trying to keep it light (pun intended), I'll be doing a lot of dual purpose stuff. These LEDs are clear white, and Amber orange. The whites will help with deer sighting, and the Amber's really help in fog...

Yes, I still have more tires, But those are for other projects. Yes, I know have a problem.
It all depends on how hard of terrain you want to go over.
I like the idea of finding weak links closer to home, but you will never know at what moment something will break on the vehicle.
I'm doing up a sidekick now. Winch and bumper where the first things, Then its rock sliders to keep...
Every few years, of Going to a free campground in NC, we would find people similar to this. Most of the times they would have a 93 Buick LeSable and/or a Ford Ranger, 8-15 kids, and always would walk through the campground asked for plates and silverware for their kids. More than once I...
Didnt get to much done because I slept in, but I and decided to finally put together my new awning. No, it's not one of the cool wrap around ones, but it only cost me $30. And I don't have to put it back if I'm staying at the same campsite for a few days.
So I pulled it out of its plastic...

Have you added any lockers on yours yet?
