That was me that made the zoom suggestion. I'll own it! Sorry my previous life kicked in. Anytime there was a group formed, some sort of meeting took place next. I'll do better leaving that part behind :). I think I'm pretty set with getting the basics covered. As earlier mentioned I plan...
I think we got comfortable with the $1.+ per gallon and forgot that was not the norm and add on that folks weren't driving around as usual for the last year; supply and demand drove the prices down. Fast forward to current and it's a different story. Pipeline shutdown, things opening up...
TAT sticker question..... After ordering the maps & stickers; it took about three weeks via usps for the sticker to get here. Not sure why so long, but at least I got them. I saw in earlier discussions where it was suggested to place a sticker on the rig. Is there a specific spot to place the...
My FL peep. You let me down....You have a shop and did not tell me, when this whole time I was looking for a mechanic... :'( I'm sad......just kidding. I'm working it out on this end.
All my FL peeps. I am looking for mechanic/shop for a thorough go thru on Nissan Xterra. Preference to being a specialist with this make/model and familiar with off roading as well. Thanks!
ok thanks! The sliders were to the right which I think causes the wording to lighten up on the waypoints ( city names, gas station, etc). I also have a few different overlays, but don't think that makes a difference. Moved the sliders all the way to the left and that improved it.
GAIA app question. Got the TAT files loaded into app and online within GAIA. My question is within the app the lettering is faded and hard to read. When zooming into a place the lettering fades even more and becomes smaller to the point of not being able to read it. Using app on Iphone 8...
Making sure I'm tracking....After reviewing the black line on the map provided at beginning of this forum and comparing that to the TAT bundle that Sam offers; I came up with needing the following add'l maps outside the bundle: Shadow of the Rockies-Colorado, Kansas, Montana, and Pacific Spur...
Have any idea of an estimate for mpg? I have been playing around in 4HI and was getting 11 mpg. Would 4x4 really be needed for most of the trail? Without it I might get 12, possibly squeak out 13. I heard that from ID to OR there was no gas for about 200mi. That distance would be pushing...
Just an FYI.....Not sure if you have come across Ash Chestnut's vids on YT for the TAT. but he filmed his solo trip coast to coast in a 4x4. I think mainly if gives a pretty good idea of what terrain might be like, along with the weather during the time we are leaving(of course weather is...
Just keeping it real from someone who has been out there. Out of all the things mentioned on this topic the most dreaded is the 2am knock from the po po to move along.
Here's my 2 cents of circling the wagons at Walmart. As a previous 3 yr full timer in an RV, living on the road, I can tell you Walmart was always a place to over night from point a to point b like a rest stop or a truck stop. As time went on Walmart started disallowing over night parking do...
Hello to the Group!
My name is Anna Edwards. I have a '12 Xterra P4X, (stock) that goes by the name of Triple B. Originally meant bigger, badder, better, but now it's just because it's blue in color. My co-pilot is a 2yr Dachshund/Jack Russel mix. I am somewhere between beginner/middle when...
