I hear ya. When I got mine I went in halves with my pops, and it was a Craigslist find so double win for me! Lol... my dad has never used it, I think he likes the idea of having one if he ever needs one. So far he hasn't which is fine with me because I use it often.
Keep it up! And remember a...
Just wondering. There is a big difference in welders. I have a Lincoln mig with a tank and it works okay... going from mine to my buddies miller is a night and day difference in how my welds turn out. Just sayin your more than likely a better welder than you think you are.
Either way, good...
Clean up and painted the linkage. Also I got rid of the clevis's and used little heim joints instead. Its so much smoother and tighter now, no more slop.

Got my shifter linkage finally done... well like 90% done. I'll still have to remove, clean and paint it. I might add some zerk fittings on those tunes but I'm not sure yet.

Stripped it down. Cleaned a.d painted the frame.
I relocated the engine cross member forward 2" and fitted the motor, headers, etc.
I cleaned up the fuel and brake lines. I'm gonna put in 2 line locks (front and rear) to lock up the breaks on steep slips where the parking brake isn't enough...
Built a tow hitch to get the chassis around town as necessary. I took it to the car wash and gave it a bath... it was surprisingly clean for a 47 year old truck.

Thank you! One thing I really like about OB is all the love! Historically a guy would build a car be it street rod, rat rod, 4x4 or overland rig and the time and effort it took would go unappreciated. Now we can all show off what we're up to and get ideas and get inspired.
I've been working on...
