Use the awning all the time camping or even setting it up for the day for lunch. Its a Rhino Dome 1300 awning with an extension on it. They actually call it a wall but we use it mainly as an extension. Fitted to the Rhino Pioneer Platform roof rack.
Yes it seems a bit over the top Luis for sure. I know Amateur Radio Victoria don't charge that much and its held over a weekend and includes a Foundation Theory training course. Link below

This can help you to find out which bands are open and other stations that are calling cq around the world.
What we can do to start with is maybe set a few frequencies and call them the OB calling frequencies. Eg 28.333mhz, 14.283 mhz, 7.0123mhz. 146.600mhz etc. what ever works for you guys over there. Putting in some HF frequencies would allow some international members to call in and participate...

One of the things I am concerned about is the SO239 connection as an Antenna Mount for this type of antenna. Will have to investage to see what available in a heavy duty SO239 mount.

I don't think much of the Iron Man suspension, We came across a Toyota Hilux on the Tanami Track last year and its front struts / shocks were bent like a banana. Ceasing up the suspension in the front. He made it to Halls Creek and took it to the authorised Toyota mechanic and got them replaced...
Has anyone thought of having a Overland Bound Radio Net on HF, or even on one of the Digital mode's EG D-Star.

Have a IC7100, ID5100 in the FJ, FT817 for hiking/backpack and SOTA. ID51A, IC7300 for HF Home base.
