Yes give us a shout when you are down this way. Cool AWD transit, we are about ready for a bed inside a vehicle, would prefer a AWD van with character rather than a white box.
Our plan at the moment is an Atlantic coast trip, France, Spain and Portugal, with some time in the Pyrenees and Picos mountains. May be take 4 weeks to do it during the summer holidays. My wife is a teacher so we are stuck with school holiday times.
It's not just the cost of the fridge. It's the batteries, changers, solar panels and so on needed to run the thing, plus the additional weight you need to carried this kit as well. For me the moto, "keep it simple and keep it light" is key.
Don't get me wrong the Goal Zero looks great kit and I am sure it does the business. It's just the cost that is outside my budget, well more precisely, budget approval by my finance director is unlikely.
I have the same problem, no electrical skills. They seem to be about half the price of a Goal Zero, I guess you could build your own for half the cost of a Greenbox, but then I'd run the risk of setting fire to something.
I'm a cooler guy. I like to keep things simple, lightweight and inexpensive. We largely camp at campsites where we can usually freeze 2l bottles of water. Two of these keeps everything cool, fresh and dry for 3 or 4 days in our Coleman. As for beer cooling, a bucket of water and a wet towel over...
