I figured this forum would like this. Northern Tool aluminum trailer kit, extended toungue, added crossbars for kayaks, basket and rod holders up front. This thing is super light you don't even feel a 4 cylinder towing it.
A busted oil pan out a forest road is a lot more expensive than a skid plate. Primitive Racing, RalliTek, LP Adventure, and Anderson Design Fabrication all make skid plates for Subaru's. LP Adventure makes bumper guards. You at least need a front skid plate to protect your oil pan and engine. I...
Photo dump. Some context-
Finally got the Prinsu on. Did it in 5 hours. I only needed help sitting it on the roof. The interior was less hassle than predicted. I put some extra insulation on the roof. I can't say enough good things about this rack. It is a simple design that is sturdy...
I managed to retain my steering wheel controls and everything else. I would recommend Crutchfield to make sure you get everything you need. They were super helpful when I installed my head unit and subwoofer.
I did a Sony XAV AX 7000 head unit and I love it. OTRATTW switches are the way to go. Alsom I have been eyeballing the RalliTek rock sliders. How do you like them?
Love the build!
Edit: What trailing arms are you running? I have the rallitek rear lower control arms I did not know they also...
Been busy as hell with school. Managed to change the oil, give it a quick wash, and toss in my spare tire carrier. Tire was just a bit too big to fit inside how I wanted it. Rigid Armor drop down tire carrier. Also you can see my RalliTek lower control arms/endlinks, Bilstein B4 struts, and King...

Hey guys,
I have been doing some spring cleaning and decided to part ways with my 80 quart Cabela's cooler. This thing is awesome. If you do a proper...
I had WIldpeak AT Trails on my 3rd gen Outback and loved them. I just put Wildpeak AT3W on my 4th gen Outback and am equally impressed. I would say the trails seem to do a bit better on slick ice but the AT3W's chomp through snow better. This leads me to believe they just clean out better...
Working on a mount for a full size spare inside the Outback. I would like to have the option to carry it inside and on top depending on where I'm going and what I'm hauling. I sold my spare tire (donut) and now have a big storage area in the rear. Here are some things I've gotten together over...
I'm a bit torn on this idea. I always go to vehicle specific forums for detailed information, especially regarding maintenance and troubleshooting. I was part of tacomaworld when I had a Tacoma, a Wrangler forum when I had a TJ, and I'm active over on subaruoutback.org currently.
After browsing...
I had HREW sliders on a Tacoma I had. I went with them because it was a 4 cylinder, stock brakes, and I didn't bash on it hard. They only ever saw use pushing stumps and trees away. Depends on what you see yourself doing and how concerned you are about extra weight.
I'm really digging this set up. I have never felt the need for a scangauge until I got my 2010 Outback that didn't have an engine temperature gauge in the dash.
How is the RTT on the Subaru? I'm wanting one for my Outback and curious how much it affects handling and MPG on our particular vehicles.
Also, there are so many Subaru builds on here! I love it!
Cheers
Got some work done this weekend.
Really happy with how it turned out. A few things I discovered in the process:
My tie rods are seized and the passenger side has a bit of play
My front passenger axle has a torn boot and with the lift is now giving me a clunk
I will sort this out as soon...
2010 Subaru Outback with 2.5l 4 cylinder boxer engine and a 6 speed manual transmission.
I got it in November 2020 with 128k on the clock for a steal.
So far all I've really done is a sound system and a few cosmetic upgrades.
Plans are as follow:
Bilstein B4 struts
King overload springs
ADF 2"...
