I would expect to WABDR to be clear of snow by late June. Even if we have to explore some alternates it shouldn't set us back much.
Might have to clear downed trees at some points, but we have a chain saw in the crew, right?

Maybe this is just feature specific to Kenwood TM-D710GA, but I can add multiple message group codes to my APRS setup and receive messages sent to any of those codes as if they were sent directly to my SSID. I don't think it matters whether the message ever went through the Internet or is RF...
I have them both overlaid on my Gaia maps, looks like the Pacific Crest has nicer forest service roads (more 2 digit roads) and more pavement. I wouldn't mind checking out the sections in the Gifford-Pinchot and maybe between 410 & Cle Elum. Rest of it doesn't look as interesting to me.

I've done the southern part of the WABDR twice, last time was last summer. I didn't see much group sized dispersed camping until I hit Bethel RIdge, but Council Lake (46.26281, -121.63219) is one of the nicer free campgrounds...
