Get out of the smoke! We won't be beat by this destination! Last time, logging equipment was blocking our route, but we are going to try it again! We are leaving from the Mobil 1 gas station near the Interstate 90 and Sherman Avenue exit at 7:00pm on Friday, august 24th. We will drive east on...

Might be tight, as I'm getting off a plane Friday evening. I could always be the straggler! I went from Superior to Avery with the family on the #282 last year, would this be a similar route? Very curious the trail as I am not familiar with table camp.
Well, not a total bust! There was logging equipment blocking the road to the peak, so we made our way south to Crystal Lake (47.377074, -116.382953) and the kids got to play in some snow!
Sorry about the short notice everyone. With little ones you can go when you can go!
Yes, we are meeting at the Mobil1 just off the Sherman exit in Coeur d'Alene.
This sounds like fun. Does anyone know if we are camping lakeside? Are there campsites? Is there an outhouse? Neither are requirements, but it would be good to be prepared.
I hope no one follows Google maps! What a re-route! The USFS map shows how easy it is to get to.
I went around the north trail of Mt. Coeur D'Alene. I made it to the top, but there is no view there from the campsites. There is a lower camp site on a ridge with a good view at 47.586083, -116.721573. Less bugs than the top, but has alot of trash around. Bring a rake and a couple heavy yard...
I was up there earlier this week, The route around the peak to the south is blocked by a kelly hump at the tight switchback on NF 439 at the y- junction west of the peak. Junction at:
47°34'55.8"N 116°42'37.2"W
Bring your limb cutters for the last 500' to the top, you'll need them!
Getting the International road worthy with the help of my son! I really want to make it to the top of Latour Peak with the family this summer. How was the Snow Steve?
Just a FYI regarding the park. "Camp sites are limited to vehicles 18′ in length or smaller."
in case anyone was planning on a travel trailer. Hope I'm not a kill joy.
Looking forward to seeing everyone! :)

Making any measurable improvement on my 2002 Explorer took lots of work and money. Luckily I started with 3.73 factory gears, added BTF upper control arms, Rancho adjustible coil overs, new bushings, wheel bearings, ball joints, wheels and tires, and polished it off with a light bar...
Greetings from north Idaho!
I guess the best camping trips I can recall were Overlanding! I am very excited to be here and look forward to getting to know you all.
I drive a 2002 Ford Explorer V8, which has a Rancho adjustable suspension, BTF uniball custom upper control arms, BFG K02 tires...
