Hit a few trails and planned on staying the night at the top of NF-4936 next to Kachess Lake. Pretty nice view from up there, but I was diagnosing the knocking sound and forgot to take a photo. @Harris, looks like you've had a couple fun adventures.

@outside.perception, it was so cool to run into you too. What were the chances? Great day to get out and emplore, but I had to cut my trip short and head home that evening becuase one of my ball joints was failing. Good news is that I caught the the problem before it became an actual problem.

It looks like everythin west of the WABDR and south of Highway 12 is in USFS and National Parks, so I think the Nahes Trail and Gifford Pinchot are viable options.

@Ties and @Hogman, I was looking at Gifford Pinchot area or the Naches Trail (with bypasses) and maybe stay the night somewhere. If DNR closed those areas, I may head towards the Olympics.

@Ties, the Wenas area looks great. I have the same route mapped up and am stoked to get out next weekend. Just in case anyone wants to head north of I90, here is a route I took in the Naneum Ridge and Whiskey Dick area exactly two years ago. I originally intended to go up to Wenatchee, but...

@Ties, confirmed. I have two family commitments the weekend of 5/8 and 5/9. Sorry, I wasn't clear about WABDR. I was thinking about hitting sections 1, 2 and maybe 3 mid to late summer, but left that out. FYI, there is a Rally Point scheduled for 7/5 - 7/10 Washington Back Country...

@Ties, 4/25 and 5/2 would be great for a day trip. I'd be up for a couple nights out the weekend of 5/14 - 5/16. Is anyone interested in hitting a couple sections of the WABDR?
