This uses a stock turbo, so boost will not exceed 13 PSI. I've upgraded the turbo on my 80 series Landcruiser which has a GTurbo and that is limited to 18 PSI. We put 90K miles in the last 5 years on long trips to Alaska, East Coast and Continental Divide and many more with not a single issue.
Some updates on the body shop. They have been putting hours on the body. Graft floor panels, and make some sheet metal parts. Over 20 body parts have been ordered from Japan. If I knew then what I know now, I would not have bought this rig. But, I'm at point of no return, and when done, I...
Finally got the quarter panels from Japan. We carried them on the roof of our 80 to Flagstaff. Body should be done before Jan 1, 2024. Then the work begins...
Spent the weekend a week+ ago in the Mojave with the Trail Guardian. @Kent R (as always) organized the OB event in coordination with NPS in the best possible way. Our specific task was to get to the south west edge of the park and post signs restricting side-by-side/ATVs to enter the park...
Just finished a 24 days/5700 miles trip including 2700 miles of the Continental Divide trail from Mexico border to Canada border. Over 1000 miles in low range including some passes in Colorado Rockies. Trip included a few rigs with an AMAZING crew. Experience that will last a life time.
That is an amazing trip. We spent a week in the North Rim last year. Point Sublime needs a permit to camp from NPS on certain dates.
Don't forget...

Great idea. I’ll miss the first meet. We are on a long trip from Mexico boarder to Canada on the Continental divide trail with a diesel 80 series landcruiser. Will try to make the next one.
We are headed to a 5000 miles trip with 1/2 or more off road. You ask what tools/parts should I take. I think it really depends how you know your rig. We have done 80k miles in the last 4 years and the only break down was a sheared NEW clutch plate. I’m not taking a spare! I’m nervous...
Been away so not much progress. Quarter panels and front pillars are still in Japan waiting for a boat...
Heater is in place and I got a bumper from 4x4labs that actually fit. At this point i am a bit stuck waiting for the body. December 31 is the dead line. I told them January 1, 2024 I'm...
Spent last weekend camping in the mountains of Oregon. Visiting family and Overland Expo PNW. Met some friends and met new ones. Dave from Delta Vehicle Systems is building an amazing truck and also has amazing products. We exchanged notes. . Also met Bryce @cruiser.la with a fantastic...
