Looks like my son will be able to get off work and ride shotgun... At some point we should come up with comm channels to use on Ham, CB and FRS for the trip. It looks like there are 4 or 5 local repeaters, but we should have a simplex channel for most use.

I have DeLorme Topo USA on both my laptop and my netbook. Works pretty well once you get the GPS connectivity issues worked out. I have been using a Garmin 48XL on a serial to USB converter. My two versions of Topo USA are now over a decade old, so new roads would not show, but for off-road...

A loose gas cap can also cause this code. When changing sensors, the front sensor is usually the one out of spec.

When I was in Boy Scouts, we would cut cardboard into 1-2 inch strips, then wrap them into a roll that would fit inside of a tuna can. Then we would melt paraffin into the top of that. We used these more for trail markers at night than for starting fires, but they worked well in a Sterno...

Back then they used paper capacitors. All of those would have to be replaced as well. I read an article somewhere about a guy who rebuilt a Heathcraft receiver (SB300?). He stripped it down to a bare chassis, had the chassis gold plated, then reconstructing it from the instruction manual...

I was changing mine every 3k, but decided to go to 5k with full synthetic. Also usually put in a quart of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Treatment. :sunglasses:

The used price range is huge... $3900- 18,000 Factory lockers and low mileage is good, but I don't know if it is that good. Any Lexus types with an opinion?
