cut sections with a saw, or depending on the size of the tree, just winch it to the side of the road. use a snatch block to a bigger tree off the trail to pull it off the side of the trail.
if you have a nice saw and the time, cut it up for firewood for someone who might need it coming behind you.
I would go for a modified version of the Trans America. Stopping at offroad parks, national parks, and whatever you want to see in America along the way. and then swing down to lake Tahoe and the rubicon trail, then take route 66 back across and head on home.

I second anchor mtn.. Ive seen a set of those shocks outlast the entire jeep. Yes, they are expensive but they are amazing products and will not disappoint you.
