Hey Mid-West Overlanders,
I just bought this and it arrived on Monday 7/8 (after 4 weeks shipping). I installed it onto my 4Runner yesterday, drove it around the block and honestly didn’t like how my truck handled with it on. So I took it off, packed it up and tried to return it. However, since...
I bought this on Monday, 7/8/19, installed it on my 4Runner and drove it around the block. I didn’t like the way my truck handled so I took it off and repackaged it for return. Unfortunately, because the product was “installed” I can no longer return it.
With shipping, I paid ~$835. I’m...
Been a busy few weeks of upgrades to the 4Runner. Some small and impulsive buys and some planned and budgeted bigger purchases. Here goes...
Smittybilt Clinometer
20% window tint in the front 2 windows
A Harbor Freight “Ooga” horn for fun
Smittybilt 8’ Awning
And (finally) some new...
Thanks for the detailed response ;). I’m still running stock wheels (20” on my Limited) but I have a Daystar spacer lift (2”F, 1.5”R) and some larger 275/55/20 AT tires. The spacers made up for the difference and are a temporary solution until I can pony up $2k for new 17” rims and larger K02s...
Some small “cosmetic” upgrades for a better stance, a more aggressive look and better organization.
Dynofit 1.5” wheel spacers
AVS window shade/trim
A Cosmos mini clock for when my nav tablet blocks my OEM clock
A fuse box for some cord management
A lock box mounted inside my storage...
Thanks! I had limited options since I have 4 kiddos to cart around. So I only removed one of the 3rd row seats and went from there. It was a fun challenge for sure. It’s been working out great. Next step is to install some lighting inside the box. Was thinking of a pin switch so that it would...
Ha! Thanks. The list is never ending, but always fun to keep playing with. First camping trip of the year planned for Nashville this weekend to put some of this stuff to good use. Can’t wait!
After some deliberation (and looking at my dwindling bank account), I opted to build my own trunk storage solution rather than to buy a prefab drawer/slide for my 4Runner. So after some cutting and sanding, gluing and bolting, adhesive and carpeting...
Tax Return time = fun toys. Just picked up a WeBoost OTR, a new Trasharoo, an Eno Roadie hammock stand, a TrekPow lithium jump start battery and a new Glock 43x! Time for some remote camping!
Just dropped a new Optima Yellow D35 into the Runner, installed a Midland 75-822 CB with glass mount antenna (bc they’re cheap, portable and reliable #revivecbradio) and added a bunch of small gear to my BOB. Also, a PSD molle system rack from Orange Boxx Fabrications is on the way...
Hoosier looks awesome. I’ve hiked through some parts of Bloomington ages ago but never had a truck back then. Would love to give it a shot. Hit me up when you’re up for it.
Funny you mention Caesar creek. I was just over there today with the family hiking around in the snow. Definitely want to check out the other areas you mentioned. Up for some driving? Hit me up and let’s plan something. Thanks!
Sounds great. I’m out of town this week for work. Maybe we can find some time to grab a drink next week? What part of Cincy are you in? I’m in Oakley/Hyde Park.
I’m in search of a front TRD or even SR5 grille/bumper and a TRD hood (with hood scoop) for my 2014 Toyota 4Runner in BLACK. If you’ve modded your rig and removed and/or chopped your bumper or hood and are looking to get rid of it, I’d be willing to pay for shipping. Thanks so much!
Just returned some lights I ordered and upgraded them. Now I’ve got a 32” xprite amber/white 150w LED bar on my roof rack. Love the way it adds to the other grill lights I’ve got going.
