Thanks! The cover is definitely worth it without the cage. It helped protect it from any scuffs and also helps insulate it.
Can't really say it's still worth it now that I have the cage. Will probably still keep it on

What are you using as a Fire Pan in Low Impact Areas?
For Example,
Anza Borrego State Park requires fires to be kept in metal containers. You can primitive camp almost anywhere with one of these.
Here is what I'm using...
1) SEE ABOVE :)
2) San Marcos, CA (North San Diego County)
3) 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4x4 "Blueberry"
