I just finished reading the entire post, which was very informative, since I am in the middle of considering what type of protection I should be thinking about on solo trips. Knowledge and training are key. Thanks to everyone; happy and safe trails to everyone!
It's pretty neat, they have a visitation center that has a lot of information. It's also interesting to watch them reposition the satellite dishes by rail car.
Tire compound has a lot of influence on braking. summer / all season compounds do not have as much grip as pure snow tires. So go slow when the tmps drops if you don't have a cold weather tire compound. Be Safe.
The equipment is less important than your "camera eye". Join a photography "Meetup" group. No pressure from the group. You can post your images on line along with the others and see how different folks see images. Have fun.
