We're wanting to go explore a section of the KAT this month or next or anytime this summer (April through whenever 2021). Wanting to go with some others just so we aren't going alone. We've never been. We like the idea of doing weekend portions, maybe three days worth over the coming months.

Check out YouTube, lots of videos of bone stock Tacoma TRD Off Roads doing MOAB. These trucks are VERY capable right out of the box. Any additions would be gravy in my opinion. BTW, that lift LOOKS pretty damn awesome. Cool Factor 10/10.

I don't know the area either. We fully intend on getting lost while in 'exploration mode', that's half the fun. Since we're going solo we will probably just take it easy. Would be fun to go with a group though.

So we decided to get into Overlanding. We ran out and bought a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road specifically for adventures. A piece of armor here and there, a bed rack, a RTT, this, that, etc... It adds up $$$ pretty quick. Obviously we all have car/truck/suv, etc insurance. What about the...

I'd say an MRE Box and a smile. BUT... My wife made me buy one of them fancy wolf tent thingies. The kind without a floor that you can set up all quick like. So I set that up and hand her an e-tool and TP. It works.
