Personally I have taken a Wilderness and Remote first aid class. This class is design to teach people to stabilize someone for up to 72 hrs till help can arrive. Never needed it yet but I run on the theory of better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it
I have considered a Jeep Liberty, and would love a Subie but you can't find many used Subies around here. People buy em and keep em. The Xterra has also crossed my mind seen some pretty nice ones online could be fun to build.
Personally if I am going to a different state the first thing I do is call the state police and just ask. I would rather have answers from the source than from a book, website etc... that may or may not be completely correct. They will tell you weather or not it is legal to carry where ever...

So we have been driving my moms car as a second vehicle since she had her stroke and is unable to drive it. My stepdad is asking to get the car back to transport his dog since he can't get the dog to jump into his explorer. So my question is what should we get as a second vehicle, again...
