Over the past few years I've veered away from the bed towers and went with a cap. I loved the simple set of with the towers however I didn't like getting dirt/mud all over my gear, especially living in the south, I have a pelican case that has been stained by the red clay mud.
Maybe we can meet up somewhere centralized around town sometime this weekend, get acquainted, grab a bite to eat and plan a day/weekend trip to Tray and Bell Mountain...
The Pinnacles are an awesome place to hike! I've been there many times and always had a great time! Great place to explore!
Another one of my favorite places is Yosemite... When I lived in San Jose, we would go four times a year, every season has something special to offer there.
When it comes...
I'm thinking about going also, I went to the Expo West back in 2013, and it was great taking some classes and meeting new friends. Since I moved to the Atlanta area last year I'm it's just 3.5 hours away from me so I'll look deeper into it as time gets closer. Glad I found this thread!
Yep, I remember those days when I went rock crawling in my 74' FJ40, it certainly takes quite a measure of skill and coordination, but I made it to the top of the gate keeper at the Slick Rock Trail!
Hi All,
So I've spent many years off roading in vehicles with open diffs (even non-4x4 vehicles), those were great years of learning finesse when it comes to maneuvering through certain obstacles... The last 15 years has been nice because I've had the luxury of a vehicle equipped with traction...
Welcome! I've traveled through NM quite a bit... did some snow wheeling up in Red River, camped in Grants while on my way to the Overland Expo a few years ago, and a few other trips passing through. It's beautiful country there!
Sorry y'all, I've been off for a couple months (hectic life)... I'm planning on taking advantage of this weekend and going up to explore Tray Mountain and Helen. Anyone interested?
Awesome write up, I enjoyed reading this interview! I've always loved the 80 series Land Cruiser. I can totally relate to Mechanical Sympathy, I used to be the guy jumping my truck at Pismo all the time but I've toned it down a bit these days, I like mods better than repairs lol.
I was inspired by Michael's video about being able to load up the vehicle and leave in 20 minutes so I took inventory and organized all my gear earlier today! I have a little more to do but I'm pretty much almost there!!! :sunglasses:
