That's a good attitude to have. You'd be amazed how many guys won't get out of their rig to solve a problem or walk a line before driving it.
Last year when I was still stock, I had two Jeep guys and a Land Cruiser in front of us use an illegal bypass to get up a pretty big ledge on Top of the...
I'll keep you in the loop. Need to put it together soon. Just busy with a big build on my own truck this week. Could be a good size group if everyone who is interested could get off. 7-10 of us, lol.
I've been going to Moab a couple times a year since 2012. I'm addicted. Something magical...
It's funny, Marcus came here to help do this build. And I was just talking to him about how no one really seems to have the exact specs on these springs. They're the same height as the PW springs unloaded, but they're 20% softer according to Don, whatever the hell that means exactly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯...
I hope to branch the Moab gathering into a semi-annual thing. And I'm working on putting together something a little more open focused on overlandering and fullsizes. ;)
Next year, we're hoping to do an over night trip. It will not be like this years, accidental over night trip, lol. Probably...
Nope, not yet. I'm doing fronts only, conducting an experiment. Going to see what results just the fronts, with stock rears and King 2.5's get me. Adjust from there.
I've been asking around about various setups and no one seems to have a straight answer. So I'm just going to have to experiment...
I should be closer to 500lbs less now that I am not living out of my truck. I lived on the road for two years towing the Airstream. A lot of gear I was hauling around. The PW is derated compared to the standard Ram 2500 Hemi which has a GVWR of 10000. Most of us assume this derating is for...
This is my truck with full gas, two adults, 2 kids in car seats, all my tools and gear, generator, 4 water cans empty and two 5.5 gallon gas cans full. We were full time. Should be lighter now.
I just purchased a 23Zero Byron based on a bunch of research. And I can't really offer feedback on it yet. But I emailed them Saturday to ask a question. They called me Monday morning. I ordered Monday morning, and it just arrived today. That IS FASTER THAN AMAZON FOLKS!
Can't wait to get it...
Yeah, I completely agree here.
It's funny, because I'm over a ground tent. I thought long and hard about the OzTent. Something about the simplicity of a RTT that I like. I have kids, when we setup came, we want it done fast. And it's usually the last thing we do. We're usually ready to settle...
One thing I've been doing is trying to offset, but it only goes so far, lol.
I upgraded from the factory bumper to my high clearance steel bumper. It comes in at only 30lbs more than the factory bumper, so not too bad. Decided to remove the steel cable from my winch and switch to synthetic. To...
I believe up to 2012 on the Cummins should be emissions free in terms of DEF and that junk. 2011 GM and Ford both phased in DEF.
Diesel will get better mileage, but if you buy new, don't fool yourself into thinking it's also saving you money, because cost wise, you're actually spending more...
I highly recommend those adjustable Bilstein 5100's. I used them as well to level my previous 1500. Mine were at 2.8”. I then upgraded to a oyoT Open County AT/II 275/65R20 Load Range E tire. No rubbing. I also added Tufftrucks TTC-1223 coils in the rear because I tow. This raised the rear of...
Why are the map tile downloads so painfully slow? Lots of folks seem to have problems downloading areas. Also download size seems to be limited significantly? This was a problem in the old app, and seems to still be an issue in the new app. Are there any plans to address that problem?
I have a number of friends who have traveled down south. They all chose gasser as it's easier for SA trips. Apparently, modern diesel with DEF would be a problem. Becuase no DEF and two sulfurer.
Surprisingly I do not have a photo of it. They are cut out to perfectly fit in my passenger side Rambox in the rear. The hoses store underneath it. I replaced the alligator clips with an Anderson style connector. And then placed a hard wire line and second connector under the hood.
I was...
