Great point. I'm curious though - since it's public land, surely there are laws against trash being left out there (in this instance, "trash" being objectively considered to be anything left behind on the trail)?
Does anyone know if that's the case or what, if any, applicable laws there are? If...
Hope you guys take plenty of pictures/video. Looking forward to hearing about the trip and hoping this is just the first of many trips to come. :grinning:
As odd as it seems, I would enjoy seeing that pile of cans as well. An interesting artifact that tells some kind of story. :grinning:
I wonder if there was any point in time when people were outraged about it, when the cans were still fresh garbage, before time had the opportunity to make them...
Definitely true. It's subjective at best.
Defacing federally protected land, on the other hand, is a crime, plain and simple. I would hope any reasonable person would agree that's not OK - if not by moral standards, at least by the standards of simply being a law-abiding citizen.
Personally, I think the state sanctioned stuff is in a different category. Particularly because it's only sanctioned for a pre-determined period of time and, generally, with the sanctioning comes a requirement that the natural surroundings are returned to the way they were before the...
My wife's favorite, especially in Fall, is something we call Cincinnati Jambalaya. It needs only 3 ingredients, not including oil and spices, and a medium sized pot:
Bag of Uncle Ben's Brown & Wild Rice
Standard 16oz. can of pinto beans (not a low sodium variant – the salt in the beans will...
This story is even more enjoyable when I imagine it being told in the voice of Sam Elliott (from your profile photo). :tearsofjoy:
"Settle in, partner, and let me tell ya a tale about them there sand hills over yonder..."
I think the dividing line is whether it's the product of negligence or the product of "artistic expression".
That being said, I would certainly be just fine with any form of "debris" in natural areas being considered as trash and legally treated as such because the result is the same...
In all fairness to the Liberty, here's a good video that shows off how truly capable it is off-road (and what appears to be completely stock):
If there's anything Jeep actually got right with the KK, it's the 4WD system and Hill Descent Control. They both work brilliantly.
FYI, in case...
Would definitely echo to go with the Cherokee. The Libertys are actually extremely capable little off-roaders but performance and reliability is very lacking. These had Chrysler's now-discontinued PowerTech (the V6 variant) engine. With 3.7L of displacement, you would think it would have some...
You should check out this upcoming event: NC/SC Brown Mountain OHV Overnight Trip
I won't be able to make it but it should be a lot of fun. [emoji1]
And the upstate SC area folks definitely need to get some group outings going this summer. Seems to be quite a few of us now.
Ah yeah, I'd imagine the bottom of the strut mount probably only has an inch and a half or so of clearance from the top of the factory tires. How much diameter did you gain going to the Kumhos from the stocks?
