Awesome Build!!! And thank you for the compliment!
Yes there is indeed several folks from the Colorado Fans forum lurking around on here.
I especially am attracted to how you have your spare fuel tank setup!!! (Above pic)
I have been wanting to permanently mount one in the same location...
Hertford is just around the corner from me. I am new to the area and hardly know anything about it. But I do love it here! It seems like it will be a fishing paradise… fresh, brackish, or salt (inshore and offshore). There is a Harbor Frieght, Lowe's, Tractor Supply, and many other similar...
Adding more skids is on the list of mods... as well as a few other mods I have had my eyes on. I REALLY want the AEV transmission skid and rear bumper. I would do the trans skid and likely wait to rip the bumper off before replacing it.
I do not have the diesel... but still want to chop the...
Update:
My truck now has a Much Better Approach angle!!!
I achieved this by registering my truck in North Carolina... now my taxes are lower... AND I only have a rear license plate. I removed the front license plate holder and gains a good amount of approach angle. lol
I have been getting...
No. On the trails I have always driven nice and slow. The Timbrens would only come in handy when falling off of larger rocks under those conditions.
However, if doing something like the long stretches of gravel crossing Kansas, or the unending stretch's of 55mph dirt roads on the Alaskan...
I watched some YouTube vids on the Timbren Off Road bumps last night after reading your post. It looks like they are made of a much softer compound than the spring helper version I had on my old Colorado.
I just applied some critical thinking about the Timbren Off-road bumps this morning on...
Now that is some GREAT info right there! I have been trying to figure out how I would be able to disconnect/reconnect the sway bars easily. Just removing them entirely would be AWESOME.
I had the Timbren (for max payload) installed on my first gen Colorado. It really did make a difference...
I just found a new Colorado/Canyon dedicated website! I have spent the whole morning scrolling through and looking around. They don't have "everything", however, they do have several versions of anything you could ever imagine.
For suspensions I saw lifts, levels, just part upgrades, Off Road...
I just stole this pic from the "Colorado & Canyon Enthusiasts" FB page.
Folks were posting up picks of their truck mileage... and this guy has some decent miles on his 16' Colorado with the old 3.6 V6/ 6 spd combo. I did the math and his truck has averaged 50miles... per hour of engine run...
Mine has a yellow dot next to it now too. It just seems to have linked the Gaia app with the testflight app. I still have my saved routes in my Gaia app... which I was able to turn on in CarPlay… which tells me that they must be linked or something.
Mine said the same thing when I downloaded the testflight app. I then did a google search for something like " Gaia Apple carplay" and followed a link to a gaia website page. Followed a link in the page and it linked my testflight app to my gaia gps app.
After that I was able to use Apple...
Gaia GPS/Navigation
It works! (Beta Test Version)
I just have the free version of the app too... and an old iPhone 5.
I was on the sideline waiting to see if the CarPlay thing came to fruition first. I shall now upgrade to the premium membership to gain access to the crazy amount of high-end...

I was on the side waiting to see if the CarPlay thing came to fruition first. I shall now upgrade to the premium membership to gain access to the crazy amount of high-end maps that come with the premium membership...
I already have the app as well. During my lunch break I downloaded the free testflight app... and then did a google search for Gaia apple carplay. Then followed a link on the gaia website that linked in the gaia beta version onto my phone. It says that it is good for 89 days... and I can go back...
Sounds like it is time for me to download and try out the Beta version. I am headed out to the Massanutten, VA area in a few weeks for a ski trip. Probably will see if I can find a trail or two in the area to try out.
Here is a pic of my BlueDriver installed. It looks like it will be completely out of the way to just leave installed for test drives.
I put it to the Mode 6 test (Most in depth... reading from many dozens of parameters). Now I know that this thing will keep a log of all said sensors. I will be...
BlueDriver - OBD II scan tool
I just purchased this little miracle from Amazon for $99
Anyways, this little beauty is one of the only scan tools that will read into virtually EVERY module on your vehicle. I got it to work on the wife's aging Ford Escape, my truck, and any vehicles we will...
This dude looks like he is from Dubai... and shows how to get a vehicle unstuck from deep sand. Essentially does the same thing crawl control from Toyota does. He buried his GMC Sierra up to the frame... and it came right out!
Cool...
Thanks!
I am planning out the next few steps soon. Mostly just obtaining new items and making plans for the layout for organizing gear in the bed right now. I want it to be easy to use/access everything... and be adaptable as well.
Hopefully when we go on the ski trip up in Virginia in a few...
