Spent the afternoon booking an early June camping trip to RMNP. Goin’ old school - flying out, cheapest rental car, everything in the 65L pack except camera gear, no showers, all adventure!
Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin’ - goodbye to Yosemite, the Dana Plateau, Inyo NF, Hoover and Ansel Adams Wilderness, adieu my little pika friends. Until we meet again!
Well, time to switch from hiking shorts to pants - 34F this morning. Sausage, scrambled eggs and hot coffee while watching the sun advance across the mountains. Perfect view!
Oh, the mountains of the Sierra Nevada Range! Driving up Tioga Pass, they shone like jagged silver cathedrals. Met a playful pine martin on my hike. Such fun!
Traveling west - today Colorado, tomorrow Nevada.
“But no temple made with hands can compare with Yosemite. Every rock in its wall seems to glow with life.”
- John Muir
Back at home for a bit - I miss the fluttering leaves of the aspen trees, early sunrises and mountain views, but love showers without a time limit or having to add quarters!
